Does the wifi need to be connected to your home wifi? My phone won't sync to its wifi because it keeps telling me the wifi signal is too weak.

The Campark does not have a strong WiFi signal. You need to be within about 10-12 feet of the camera to sync.

No it has nothing to do with home wifi. It just links to your phone. I would call it more like Bluetooth rather than wifi
