Great if you are 64" tall or less!
This is a good quality tripod with a really smooth ball head that would be an excellent choice if you are less than 64" tall. If you are taller than this, like me, then you will need to extend the final leg section and that's when the tripod begins to flex and it's just not quite stable enough to take a large dSLR with a large lens, hence me rating this with three stars - if that final section was thicker or if the other tubes were slightly longer so the final section wouldn't be needed, then I would give it five stars.

A gift for my dad
My dad had been using the same small, old binoculars that he has owned for years. I wanted to buy him a new pair for Christmas, but I didn't know much about them. I recognized the Celestron name so took a chance on this inexpensive pair.First, they are huge, which is what I wanted. The lenses are flawless as far as I can tell, and the focus is sharp and crisp. Because of the size, you'll want to either brace them against something or use a tripod with the included adapter.A fantastic deal, in my opinion, for ~$50.

Learning curve but good bang for buck
Not bad on the wallet but If you can swing the money for a bigger one do it. I've seen saturn and it's rings(been chasing since the first time) the moons craters, couple bands of jupiter. I'm a novice to star gazing but I recommend orion telescope and binoculars on youtube and they help you understand this specific model. There's a learning curve to get into it and you NEED a red dot finder to find anything. I also do recommend the barlow x2 and the 6mm. Bottom line good scope, needs red dot and some practice.

Excellent product
These binoculars met all my expectations and serve their purpose well. I myself do not find them too heavy to hold for a while, but a tripod or some support is necessary when stargazing as it is very difficult to hold them still, and the slightest little movement causes the image to shake around. Though 10x magnification seems to be recommended by the experts for this purpose, giving a good wide view, I have not found the extra magnification a disadvantage in this respect. It seems easy to target any object, and the extra magnification is a bonus. A highly commendable product.

Bought To Take On A Cruise
I bought this little scope for use on an upcoming cruise - something little and light that I can carry with me wherever I go. We are always seeing things, (ships, islands, lights, etc.), in the distance and would like to see exactly what they are. I have a compact pair of binoculars, but even they aren't as convenient to carry as this little scope is. I usually end up leaving my binoculars behind, but think this little scope will go with me wherever I go. The belt pouch makes it very easy to keep it handy, yet unobtrusive. The construction is light plastic, but that's what I wanted - something so light that I don't even notice it until I need it. I considered the larger, heavier, Roxant scope, thinking it would give a better image, but realized that wasn't what I was looking for. The image through this one looks like it will be all I need for clear viewing at sea. I'm thinking of getting a second one to give to my son and his wife, who are going with us on our upcoming cruise. The only thing I would improve is to include lens caps for those times when I want to wear it around my neck with the included strap.

Small and easy to use
Shipping of this product was quicker than expected with no issues. Have used the Brunton Echo a few times.Pros:-light, small fits in your hand-easy to use and focus-relatively clear for the low priceCons:-not the best optics but decent for low price-good priceOverall this is a good little scope that you can carry with you anywhere. I looked around at other scopes and this is definitely cheaper in price and smaller than most. The scope helps to slightly boost your normal vision when you need it. Will never replace a good pair of binoculars for magnification, clarity and field of view.

The most bang for the buck!
I finally got to test these the other evening under a dark, moonless sky on the Washington coast and was not disappointed. True, the mounting is not exactly adeqaute for the sheer size of these binoculars but they still work if you're careful and have a steady tripod. Some highlights from my viewing: M81 and M82 (both galaxies fit nicely in the f-o-v), M31 stretched across the entire f-o-v, Sagittarius was a treasure trove of deep-sky objects (especially the Lagoon and Trifid Nebula), and last but not least M13 - spectacular! I even barely glimpsed the distant galaxy NGC 6207 in the f-o-v using a fair amount of averted vision. I think this pushes the binoculars to their limit. These bincoulars will also reveal detailed views of the moon, the satellites of Jupiter, the crescent of Venus, and even Saturn (just barely) in less than favorable sky conditions. Also, open star clusters(re: Perseus, M44, Pleiades) are visually stunning - much more so than what a high-powered telescope would reveal.Overall, highly recommended for the price. If you want a bigger binocular with all the bells and whistles, be prepared to pay thousands of dollars.

Works fine for the price
You gotta have something like this. There are just times when you want to see things closer up. This is, of course, easier to cart around than binoculars, but it always seems to be harder to find your target with a monocular. I have to take my glasses off to focus and it, so not optimally convenient. These have good clarity and a good amount of magnification for moderate distances (like at the theater). Seems very well made and sturdy; not light weight at all. Forgot it first time I went to the theater in the park -- have to get used to finally having one of these things.

Great for backyard astronomy
I have been very impressed with these, which I bought for easy back-yard binocular astronomy. I live in a fairly light-polluted area, but I was able to pretty easily pick up the recent Comet Lovejoy when it was between +4 and +5 magnitude. You can easily see M42 (the Orion Nebula), the Pleiades, and get good detail in the moon. You can pick out Jupiter's moons. With 15x magnification, any motion in your arms when you hold it is magnified. You can address this by holding them near the lenses rather than the place that seems natural to grip, or by using some sort of tripod if you want a high degree of stability. The field of view is about 3 degrees (about the span of Orion's belt), which is large enough that large star clusters (like the Pleiades) still look interesting without being over-zoomed into just a star or two like you would get with a telescope. The only thing I've noticed about these binoculars is that they aren't able to focus very well on close objects (i.e.: 50 feet away). But if something's 50 feet away, you probably don't want any form of 15x70 binoculars anyways.
