Received this folding selfie stick, and all I can say is WOW. I'm very impressed with it and it's easily replaced my OEM Insta360 selfie stick. Let me tell you about the things that I love about it.Just to start off with, its build quality is excellent. I've been using it now for a month, and have nothing but high praise for it. When using it, it provides the invisible selfie stick effect. It's nice and long, and also doesn't bend or arc too much while in use. Obviously the weight of the X5 does create a very minor droop, but it doesn't show up in footage. It also has a thread at the bottom for a quarter inch screw, in the event you want to attach a tripod accessory to it. I don't have one of these, but it's great to have the option in the event you do. You could also potentially add an extender to the bottom for even greater length, but this is something you would need to look into.What I also love about it is its folding capability. This is great because the original selfie stick that I have doesn't have this capability. The reason you are going to want something like this is for storing and size reduction capabilities. Typically with an original Insta360 selfie stick, it doesn't provide this capability. With this one, you're able to easily fold it up and put it in a jacket pocket or side cargo pant. As you can see from the photos that I provided, I love its latching mechanism. The first latching mechanism I'm going to speak about is the one that secures the selfie stick to the X5. It also comes with the lock switch, to prevent accidental release of the latch. This is excellent, because other similar selfie sticks do not offer this capability. This prevents accidental release of your camera, and also provides peace of mind that the camera has been properly secured within the latching mechanism.The second latching mechanism is the folding component. It clicks in place and I haven't noticed it come undone and is sturdy when in use. It securely keeps the camera in position, and when necessary you're able to easily collapse down to a reasonable compact size. When fully collapsed and folded, its size is reduced to about 6.5” x 3.75” x 1.5”. This product also comes with a silicone protective cap, which is a nice addition. I already have two of these, but it's nice to have an extra one in the event I lose one. The protective cap looks like all the others, and it's easily placed over the camera lens, and can be rinsed and washed if needed.Some important things that I think people should know about this is that it is not waterproof or designed to be inserted in wet areas. The reason I say this is because if you try to use this in ocean water, I'm almost certain that you're going to damage all the components to it. That includes the extension bars, and both latching mechanisms. Although I'm tempted to take it in the water, I STRONGLY advise against it. Saltwater is incredibly corrosive and unforgiving to devices that are not explicitly made for it. So be sure to keep this away from that type of environment. However, if you are outside and you do get some rain water on it, I want to say it should handle that better. Just make sure that you properly dry it and make sure that it doesn't rust any of its components. But the bottom line is you should keep this dry at all times.Overall, I give this product 5 out of 5 stars. Primarily because the price and value cannot be overstated. Not only is it comparable to the original OEM product, but it provides a better value in price. It's length and compacted size or unbeatable, and any content maker or filmmaker will quickly fall in love with it's portability, and usability like I have. This is a great product as a gift for yourself or others, and is a valuable tool for anybody that likes to capture everyday moments, to action sports or events. The long and short of it is that this is a must buy product.
