Terrible and cheap ball head accounts for most of the weight savings.
Terrible and cheap ball head accounts for most of the weight savings. Its bulky and long folded size is a big negative. Poor quality control: Metal bits rattling around in the CF legs. Not very stable.I would only get this tripod if weight savings was the only thing that matters to you.I recommend Fotopro or Surui instead.

Slips off of my head
I like everything for this price, except that tends to slide off of my head if I don't wear a ball cap under it.

Good solid mount! Lol
This Ball Head is well made, I have loaded a spotting scope as well as a Nikon D4 with 300 mm without drift. I am happy with ot!

Metal Magic Masterpiece!
This little tripod is awesome! I wasn't sold on the price originally and got it while it was on sale. However, after using it, the build quality is amazing! It is sturdy and solid. I have put a Cayer H6 fluid head on it and it allows me to do some fun macro video close to the ground. My only complaint is not being able to determine where the ball head can rotate 90 degrees downward. I feel like it should be positioned over one of the legs because it becomes top heavy and will fall. Other than that, it is a great little tripod and worth the investment.

Worked like a charm for over a decade.
This quick adjustment ball head is great for setting up a quick shot, when speed and flexibility is more important than precision.I bought this ball head about fifteen years ago and it gave very satisfactory service until recently when the tension adjustment ran out of travel. What I think happened is that the spring that tensions the ball took a set over the years and no longer provides enough clamping force to hold the camera firmly in position. This could probably be fixed but I haven't looked into it.

Purchased for astrophotography as needed
Nice ball head. Very solid. Purchased to mount dslr to a star tracker for astrophotography. Can see I'll use it for regular photography too.

As Advertised
This ball head works as described, it almost makes using a tripod a pleasure, gone are the days where I hesitate to deploy the pod becuase of the hassle, relatively smooth, a bit sticky, but not really a major issue, would rather have it be a little sticky and lock dead tight (which it does) than too smooth and unreliable on the lock. Highly recommend this product.

Excellent aesthetic and build quality
Love this tripod, both aesthetic and build quality. Liked the fact that it is heavy, I don't mind carrying heavy if I'm going to get sharp images for sure. Love smooth ball head. Liked central stick, which can be adjusted to any direction. It's a full package for years of photography under $200.

the ball head is wonderful, and it comes with a ca
It does everything I'd want it to and then some. It seems well built so far, the ball head is wonderful, and it comes with a carrying case and two mounting plates for the head. This tripod will easily extend to my eye level (I'm 6'3") while remaining rock solid stable. I wish I had bought this when I started out instead of the chintzy tripod I started out with.Edit: note that the plates are not compatible with the common Arca Swiss standards. This hasn't been an issue, unless you buy a mounting accessory that requires such compatibility.
