High Quality Glass, Useful Mounting System
Although I'm an avid photographer, and have used several different types of filters, this was my first time experimenting with a square filter like this one. The quality of the glass seems high, with no noticeable distortion, and the filter holder keeps the glass close enough to the lens that there weren't any strange reflections or flares visible. The photograph I've posted was taken using the ND1000 filter in bright daylight at ISO 100, f/2.8, and 1/4 second. This is a very dark ND filter, and will block a lot of light. I do notice vignetting at the outside corners of the image, but this is likely due to my lens (Olympus 12-40mm Pro f/2.8) rather than the ND filter itself as the darker image would naturally draw out those flaws in the lens that diminish with brighter exposures, and the consistency of the vignetting is congruent with a circular lens element rather than with a square filter. Here's what I liked and didn't like:Positive:1. The filter itself is of high quality glass with no noticeable defects or inconsistencies2. The adapter rings provide a wide range of lenses to be attached3. The mounting system allows for two filters to be mounted simultaneously4. The mounting system can be quickly attached and removed with the press of a button5. Filters slide in and out easily, but fit securely in the mounting system6. The case for the ND filter and the overall packaging is nice7. The ND filter is clearly labeled on one edge so you know what filter you're working with8. The instructions are clear and helpfulCons:1. The mounting system doesn't always clip on easily. This may just be something I need to get used to, but I wish there was a clearer *CLICK* when it locks in place2. The mounting system is secure, but it is released completely with the press of a button. While convenient, this could lead to an accidental release of the mounting system and whatever filter you have attached. In my case, I accidentally bumped the release button, dropping my ND filter onto pavement where it shattered. Some sort of sliding lock in addition to the button would be idealPreferences (These are things that I don't prefer, but that may be a better or worse fit for you):1. The mounting system spins freely on the front of the camera. This may be helpful for some people, but I would prefer that it was fixed, or at least allowed me to set it to fixed and then unlock it to rotate2. There are no mounting points for an eyebrow, barn doors, hood etc. These aren't essential in every situation, but you would need an additional matte box in some situations. Making these accessories available would be a great upgrade

As advertised
As advertised. It was a little frustrating because I tried to screw just the wide angle lens separate from the smaller macro lens directly to the clip. They are slightly different sizes, but I mistakenly thought they would couple.I wish the back part of the clip also had a rubber pad since that part makes contact with your screen.

Simply Amazing
This lens is simply AMAZING. It is my first 2.8 lens, and i am deeply satisfied with it and i would buy it again and again and again. The quality is amazing, heavy, yes.. butworth the suffering and after a while i got used to it.If you are thinking about buying it, i would encourage you to go ahead, you won't regret it.

Love love love my new macro lens!
I am taking great macro photos out in nature with this lens- so handy and easy to use. I highly recommend this product? Just have an extra pocket on your shirt to slip the lens into when you aren't using it when you are using the neck strap so it doesn't bounce around.

Perfect
It's wonderful to finally be able to take the lens cap off while I'm out and about instead having to remember to take it off while I'm inside to avoid accidentally losing it. I haven't had any issues with them coming off the caps, and the strap is secure around the lens. They work great!

Wide Range of Optics
Most of the low-end cameras have a wide-angle perspective. I do most of my video conferencing in a small room, hence some clutter or other objects that you don't want to exhibit. This is where this camera comes in handy, it has four settings, which is nice depending on your location. I prefer using the third setting, which is close but doesn't expose every skin pore on your face. The one slide that protects the lens sticks and the camera doesn't default to the last setting, meaning you have to reset the camera again, the reason for the four stars and not five. These two issues aren't a big deal considering the price. It's something that you can contend with.

Higher Quality than expected
This lens is a simple clip on attachment which makes it work with most phones on the market. The lens is heavy duty, well built and overall beautiful. I bought it specifically for the wide angle and it works great for that. Overall, I'm feel like it's a great value for the money and would expect to pay double for something that is so well built.

excellent camera for the price
This is a great entry level DSLR. It's very intuative to use. The quality of the pictures taken from this camera is excellent even with the cheap kit lens. I can't wait to get some L-lenses. It only cost a little bit more than higher end point and shoot cameras, but the level of artistic rendition that can be achieve from this camera is well worth the extra cost. If you like taking still images buy this camera instead of wasting your money on a point and shoot. Highly recommended. One gripe though....my dirtyface smear all over the lcd screen everytime I use the view-finder. It makes reviewing your shots a bit blurry. Very annoying.

5+Black Numerous BAD Issues Resolved
This is my second review of this camera. The first time I gave it a ONE STAR review, but I have been able to resolve many of my issues. The GoPro team has finally turned their Tech Support line back on and even though they have outsourced overseas, I was able to get my problems resolved.First and most important, this camera's Write/Read speed is far greater than my old 3+ Silver. That said, the micro SD card from my old camera IS NOT COMPATIBLE! This is important because it will sort of work, but not really and you lose most of your video. Go to the GoPro site and find a listing of the few SD card that are compatible. I got a 64MG Lexar for less than my old SanDisk 32MG and it resolved 100% of my "function" issues. Save yourself tons of aggravation and get the "right" card from the start. Many of the one star reviews are because of this issue alone I believe.Secondly, the video quality was on par with the very first digital camera's first produced. Splotchy, and like filming through water drops that were moving. I would say it was about 1/10th the quality of my old 3+ Silver and That was a deal breaker for me. I then took the camera into a bright light area and tried to inspect the lens as best I could. I realized that the inside of the housing and the camera lens itself came from the factory filthy. Once I figured out how to open the lens cover, it appeared someone with oil on their fingers put this camera together. I methodically cleaned both the lens and the housing, it was disgusting. It has made all the difference in the world as I think the sensor was trying to focus on the closest item, the dirty lens.I have now taken film inside of a building of people showing dogs at a show, outdoor film of dogs running and jumping, inside the house dog play, and films from my dash while driving my truck. The quality of everything is what I had heard I should have and I am very pleased.I have noted that this new camera, even though it doesn't need a housing, has extremely poor audio pick up. I may have to keep looking for a setting that might improve this. Also, if you leave the back LED on while filming, your battery will only last about 30-45 minutes of film time. There is a setting where it will turn off after 60 seconds which seems to about double the battery life. Also, I found that if I use the USB that came with the camera to charge the battery in the camera, it take 6-8 hours to get a full charge. I therefore bought the $50 dual fast charger and two more batteries, so I have three batteries every time I go out...and no surprise, the old batteries are NOT compatible with this new camera. Many of the touch screen commands are far superior to the old Menu system. That alone makes this a better camera. But, they also encourage you to download and use their new QUIK program, and I will never figure out why. I am glad I kept my old GoPro Studio. Oh yeah, my PC wil recognize that the 5+Black is attached, but it will not download or play anything from it and I'm using WIN10. If I remove the SD card and plug it in direct to my PC, everything works and I can download/play/transfer/etc. all. My 3+ did the same thing, so no big deal.I hope that once the GoPro folks get through this massive trade in program, that they then will go back to a Tech Department that is responsive to questions and problems. To date they have never tried to answer any of my inquiries except to send me a survey after I finally talked to their outsource tech folks. When they do that, I may give this camera a 5 Star.
