Great clean mic - on camera or boom
I was looking for a good on-camera microphone for my Panasonic GH5 and caught a whole bunch of YouTube reviews of this mic. Everyone says it's awesome, and its closest competitor is the Rode VideoMic Pro Plus, which is $100 more. It has an internal battery which you charge with a USB-C cable (included) and the battery lasts for over 50 hours. +20 dB of stepless gain via a dial on the back end of the mic allows you to get exactly the levels you need, and there's a high-pass/low-cut button with 75 and 150 Hz options. With the Rycote Duo-Lyre shock-mount and included 3.5mm little connector cable you have an awesome on-camera mic, and the foam windscreen with "Deity" printed on the side lets everyone know you're not just another Rode groupie. If you're curious about this mic, I encourage you to check out the Deity Microphones website for all the juicy details, and one more piece of advice: shell out for the Deity V-Mic D3 Pro Location Kit, which gives you the mic, as well as the Rycote Duo-Lyre shock-mount on a pistol grip, and the D-XLR phantom power to 3-volts 3.5mm adapter, which lets you convert the 3.5mm cable into an XLR (and converting phantom power to plug-in power), and the pistol grip can be used handheld or screwed onto the end of a boom pole, making this an amazingly versatile and affordable microphone for filmmaking and location sound recording.
