Cost-effective tripod for light duty only
With a small light-weight snapshot camera, such as a Canon PowerShot, or pocket binoculars mounted, it's stable enough (although I haven't tried it with legs fully extended and I'm not sure it would be so good if used that way). With a separately purchased smartphone adapter, it would also work. Good value if it meets your needs. Don't try it with a DSLR, a typical 35mm film camera or a large binocular. If you have an ancient Leica 35mm rangefinder model (not its bulkier 1950's Russian knockoff), you can enjoy this tripod along with my congratulations.

Great value
These are a great value. I was fortunate in that the pair that I received had no collimation issues. I would suggest if you get a pair which does have collimation issues to return them for another pair rather than "prying up the rubber" and working on them yourself after watching a video. I also disagree with those who say these are not to be handheld. These are easily handheld, particularly for terrestrial viewing. For star gazing a tripod and adapter are recommended as the item you are viewing will just jump around too much. This is not an issue for terrestrial viewing, and any person of average size should have no issues hand holding these binoculars. Even if you are not into astronomy, you will find numerous uses for these. The views they will afford as opposed to 10x50's on far away objects is very impressive. The fit and finish are also impressive. These do not feel or look like cheap binoculars. The one item I would find fault with is the included strap. It is far too thin to be comfortable for any length of time. Spend 10 or 20 dollars and upgrade the strap. I still give the item 5 stars as I feel it represents a tremendous value. Check them for any collimation issues when you receive them and upgrade the strap. I would rate these as one of the best values in binoculars you will find.

First Time - Does Ok
First time purchase of night vision goggles, operating with basic spec and not high-end military spec. You get what you pay for. These binoculars range out at 165 yards like advertised. Buttons become easy to use and figure out. Foreground viewing screen brightness and IR mode (distance) lense brightness visibility work fine; it will take some playing with to find a clear screen that suits you, based on your light intensity. Be sure to remove the dust cap on the front and then adjust the focus manually on that same single lense, for best clarity at the furthest distance (just like a regular pair of binoculars). Objects in the distance are mostly clear, but not a lot of contrast definition. Battery usage will increase when in IR distance mode. Turn off when not using. Strap for the neck fits fine, and I'm 6' at 220 pounds. Good value from AmazonWarehouse.com for a reduced cost.

Velotrex Night Vision Goggles Infrared Digital Bin
I would not call these Goggles nor Binoculars, but rather a camera / viewer. You don't hold these up close to your eyes like a pair of binos. but rather hold them up so you can see the viewfinder. After playing with them for a couple weeks, I got the hang of it and they do a good job of "seeing" in the dark. Great for scanning an area for game, or predators. Certainly not state of the art night vision, but there are not marketed or priced as such. Provides relatively clear pictures and the ability to record. I feel the price / performance value is worth it.

Great value for the price
I have other thermal imagers, but this is my first pair of night vision/digital camera binoculars. I got them for hunting South Texas. Both for varmints and in the unfortunate case of tracking a wounded deer at night. These things work well for both. I also wanted the ability to take a picture of an animal and share it with others. The micro SD is a little cumbersome for me, but it still gets the job done. Overall, I think they are a great value for the price. Would recommend.
