The light bleeding is just right. Thanks to the True Color CPL, it doesn't break down.
I often shoot indoors on antique-style sets,
and I purchased this filter because I wanted to test out how Black Mist would work in an environment with many point light sources (lamps and chandeliers).
The photos here are a comparison of photos taken with and without the 1/4 filter attached, under the same conditions.
I adjusted the brightness without the filter and left the settings the same with the filter attached.
First of all, I think the way the light source blurs is very natural.
The 1/4 filter has a stronger effect, but the K&F mist doesn't "make the light expand into a round shape," but rather softens the edges while leaving a core of light, which makes it easier to create atmosphere.
Another strength of this filter is that it has an integrated True Color CPL.
Since there is no need to add a separate CPL, there is no increase in flare,
and it was convenient to be able to add just the mist effect while minimizing color breakdown and glare.
Especially in conditions like this one,
• Dark background
• Indoors with many point light sources
• Costumes made of glossy material
Normal mists tend to overexpose highlights, but the Black Box is easy to use because it adds softness while controlling reflections.
As you can see in the photos,
• Without it → Hard light, sharp shadows
• With it → Light spreads softly, creating an airy feel
The difference is clear.
I think this is perfect for people who want to create an atmosphere without distorting the colors.
If you want a less pronounced effect, choosing 1/8 would be a good choice.
On the other hand, if your subject is more like a gravure model, this filter's low contrast makes it unsuitable.
