Let me start by saying there are mixed reviews for products like this all over. And typically a lot of the glowing positive reviews for many products these days are most likely paid/influenced in some way. And most extremely negative reviews are from unmet expectations or ignorance. This product is not what I’d call high quality in terms of a security camera. However it is of the highest quality for what it is intended for. And that’s to be a small, portable, WiFi enabled camera. It’s small enough to go unnoticed. Not so small that you can hide it anywhere and catch someone doing something they shouldn’t be... But if you did it right, it will certainly blend in and be hard to notice. That being said, they do have a battery. But this battery is not intended to last for days. (Buy arlo if that’s what you need. 2-3x the price, and 4x bigger though..)This is designed to only run for an hour or so. Clearly stated in their specs/descriptions. You can power it off a cheap usb charging block with included cables, or buy longer micro usb cables to mount them inconspicuously. Or use a battery pack. I have done both and been quite happy with the performance of these super cheap but perfect quality cameras. Hooked 1 up with a 10,000 mAh battery pack and it stayed on for 2+days no problem. Recording motion to the 128gb sd card and using the iOS app for remote viewing several times each day. -this brings another point. Almost all of the cameras like this, knockoff brands in my opinion, (as they’re impossible to tell apart by looking at them, although the quality difference is obvious to me. -I own several of the knock offs. And I do have more issues with them) only take a 32 gb SD card max. These support 128. THATS days worth of motion based recordings. Speaking of the knockoffs. They run the same app. Look identical. Even work with the PC software that these folks have available. (Simple but easy program to view LOCAL cams on your computer. Not for remote viewing.) however the knockoffs, constantly lose WiFi connection if they’re plugged in always. And have to turn them off for a few min and then back on. Sometimes several times to reconnect. These Aribi cameras have yet to have an issue like that. They do get warm charging them all day and night. And the image may get discolored if the infrared lights are left on all the time when it’s dark. (Hasn’t happened to me, but very possible. They generate extra heat. )All in all, these cams work for exactly what they’re designed for. Short time usage, or inconspicuous cameras to catch an evil doer.. I install security cameras as part of my business. And have worked with all the major brands. Cheap WiFi stand-alone cameras (think ipcam/foscam etc) all the way up to professional level dvr/Nvr systems from all the major companies. (And lets be honest. They’re all made in the same factory in China. And it’s just the software/firmware that’s different. ) And that does make the difference many times. If you’re not familiar with cameras, or not tech savvy, then these may be tough to setup. (Think computer illiterate) however I feel most people with average knowledge of electronics can run this no problem. And enjoy them for what they are. If you’re looking for something professional to monitor your home or business and record motion or 24x7 to protect yourself, buy a wired dvr or Nvr system. Spend the money, do it right, and you won’t be disappointed. I have the cameras systems at work and home. And I use these to fill in the gaps of coverage. Or get a better angle on a room where people wouldn’t think to look for a camera. And so far I’m more than pleased with these cams. They just work. And work well, especially for a $35 WiFi camera that can run off a battery or charger and record to SD (up to 128gb). No complaints here.
