Good size for monopod.
I’m using this ball head on a monopod. Size is great for the monopod but using it with a heavy lens you’ll have to really tighten the knobs.Better used with smaller lenses.

Been using for 8 years!
I’ve never written an Amazon review, but this is worthy of one. I’ve been using my dohm for EIGHT years. It just now is losing sound quality. Eight years for one product is crazy good. Also, I’ve loved it all eight years. It helps me fall asleep and for noise cancellation. I get compliments from friends who stay over as well! Get it!

Using with Debian Linux
I've been using these with Debian Linux on an HP Proliant 310e server as backup storage (using bacula), so far with good success. I reformat them as ext4 as follows:- connect drive, then run fdisk -l to determine logical name of new drive (/dev/sdc, /dev/sdd, etc.).- blow away Windows partition and create new Linux partition using fdisk /dev/sdx (replacing sdx with logical name from above).- format drive using mkfs -t ext4 /dev/sdx1 (again, sdx is logical name, and 1 is the newly created partition number)- run blkid to determine drive UUID, and edit /etc/fstab with an entry such as: UUID=189dc971-cd32-4033-8edd-d4cb3b4b1750 /bak ext4 defaults 0 0- mount drive (for example, mount /bak)One caveat: since I have an older version of this model server, it only has USB 2.0 ports, so transfers are a bit slow. I hope to remedy this with an add-in USB 3.0 adapter in the near future.

Using with a baby grand
I could not use a traditional piano light with my church's baby grand so I purchased this light. It is serving its purpose, but I've not figured out how to get the 19 levels of light. I have figured out 9.

Using this for cemetery walks
This really helps illuminate gravestone faces and makes the inscriptions really easy to read, especially if they are facing away from the sun.

Using in Cold Temps
I put one light inside my glove box and one inside an outdoor shed (it's only 16" deep). Both have been in place for 1 month and the batteries have not died. I wish we could toggle between different light temperatures, but the warm white light is good and it doesn't destroy your night vision. Very good buy.

Using as a docking station.
Had four new laptops that did not have a VGA port or RJ45 port. Needed to connect wireless keyboard / mouse combos, VGA or HDMI monitors, and wired network.Cons: Could not get the VGA to work. Had to find one more monitor with HDMI to get all four working.Pros: With all the options, I was able to connect all the items needed.
