I agree with eddie - I have not really needed to support the 15 pounds that it should handle. With my camera with battery grip, 135mm lens and hanging my camera bag with extra body and 3 other lenses from the hook there was no visible deflection on the tripod legs and made it super stable. Any DSLR with standard screw mount should work without problem. My canon 70D had no problems.

the locks for the legs are plastic, however the quality is very good for what you are paying. My 70D is very stable on it, I would just get a fluid drag head to upgrade it, very nice tripod though.

To hold telephoto lens, it is recommended to use a tripod mount ring additionally for better balance. Meanwhile, it is better to hang some heavy thing to the hook to lower the center of gravity on this tripod to make it more sturdy and less prone to vibrations.
