Great mic for beginners and amateurs
I'm not a professional photographer, so I don't need a microphone that has perfect sound quality. This microphone is great for me because it has a very attractive price, and the quality you get for it is satisfactory. I've tried using in outdoor areas and I was able to record sounds for videos just well in environments like crowds, streets, and in parks as well.

fancier version of Blue Yeti microphone with much
This is a fancier version of the popular Blue Yeti amateur-quality USB microphone with a much higher price tag ($170 vs $110). For the extra money, you get 4 condensers (instead of 3) to give you higher-resolution 24-bit audio (instead of 16-bit) plus a bunch of fancier control and display options. The new microphone has the same directional recording patterns to isolate the recording to your intended audio sources. Is the new microphone worth the extra money? If you really need 24-bit audio, then definitely yes. If not, the new display and control features are more convenient than a huge jump in functionality. The Blue Yeti is still a great microphone for amateur USB recording (podcasts, musical performances, etc). The new version is a step forward, but not worth the price for everyone. My biggest complaint is that the new microphone uses the same ancient mini-USB interface as the old one. Modern ultralight laptops are moving to the USB-C standard and mini-USB is 2 generations old. You could use a USB-C hub to give you a mini-USB interface, but I wish all modern devices came with USB-C ports since this has been the standard for the last few years.

Pretty sensitive
We picked the microphone to be able to pick up voices from around the table on a Google Hangout without having to shout. It works pretty well.

Really good quality
Microphone is really good quality and allows for easy mount. The stand has a swivel for good movement and it’s easy to plug in. (Comes with an adaptor as well)

Great microphone Good Design
I've used the Blue Yeti as well as the Tiki (small mic from the same company). I've also used the Samson C01U.This little microphone holds it's own for both function and design.Compared to the Tiki, it's much more practical and versatile as the clip lets you attach it to your iPad (you'll need the Apple camera adapter kit for that though). The pictures show you can clip it to your laptop screen as well, but the clip closes very tightly, and I don't want it to hurt my laptops screen so it's also got the top to use the clip as a little stand that works great and has padded feet that can help reduce vibrational noise. The Mic a switch that lets you choose between cardiod or omnidirectional. If you want to podcast and don't want to spend the money on the Blue Yeti, the GoMic is a great option.- Cool feature -The mic has a green LED light on the front that flashes red if your audio is coming in too hot/loud. If you get too close to the mic and speak too loudly or pop some "p" noises then the light will flash red. Go back and listen to your recording and you'll hear that you have some clipping or pops at those points. So it's a nice little indicator to help you get the ideal distance to the microphone. The mic folds up into the clip, and has a clamshell case. I with there were room for the USB cord in the case or at least a little loop for the cord to be wrapped up on the back of the case, but oh well.Great microphone.Note to Mac users:After you plug in the mic, make sure to go to System Preferences > Sound > Input and select Samson GoMic
