Multiple uses not just in a nursery.
I was loaned one to use when our entire tiwn was suddenly receiving 8 inches of water in only a few hours in early June 2021. I plugged it in and hung it near the sump pump and had monitor by bedside to keep an eye on water and how the sump pump was handling it all. It prevented me from having to constantly go up and down basement stairs to see if the sump pumpWas still on. I keep it there now all the time to see how things are in basement when it rains now and it is a real life saver so I ordered me the exact one my nephew loaned me. Well worth the $. The night vision was perfect and I just kept it plugged in but the monitor I have taken outside the house and it continues to work fine on the battery and battery life is great.

In my limited use so far...I like it.
This little camera...and I do mean little...is doing a great job so far. Please take this in account, I don’t have a lot of experience with these little action cams outside of borrowing a GoPro from a friend for a day.- It did come with so many different mounting options that I don't think I'll ever need to buy anything else unless I want to mount it to my dog or a rocket ship or something. I've pretty much only used it IN the waterproof case with the solid back OR the one with the slotted back.- The pictures it takes are clear and completely adequate for my use.- I really like the remote that comes with it, it allows me to put it in hard to reach places and still be able to turn it on when I need it on. That has the benefit of not making the mount move (if it’s a tree branch or rope) by pressing on the camera and you can set it up, leave it and still have some control over it. I’ve been thinking about mounting it to the bottom of my jeep to get footage of the steering linkages to try to find the source of my ‘death wobble’ that would allow me to not have to worry about sifting through 10 minutes of footage to get the 30 seconds I want.- I really like the adjustable angle on the camera, it makes it so I can shoot narrow shots documenting work that I’m doing or wide angle for videoing my daughter diving for toys in the community pool.- The menu is easy enough to navigate using the touch screen or the buttons (if the case is on it), that seems like a well thought out feature.- Battery life is pretty sad, but I suppose the trade off you get with such a small camera. Nice that they at least include a second battery.- I did notice that the time and date seem to reset when you change the battery. That’s something that should really be addressed, I’m going to need to start setting up folders for each file when it’s taken off the camera to keep some kind of chronological order to it all.I haven’t gotten into all the various features and uses of this little camera, but I can’t wait to see what other uses I find. It’s rather exciting to have…. maybe that means I just need to get out more…

Perfect for my needs (UPDATED)
First I have to say that the customer service is spectacular! I am on my second camera, the first one I purchased didn't go so well. It stopped working after a few days.I reached out to AKASO and I received a prompt response. Ask me for details regarding what happened which I provided. Generally, they were very understanding, and they expressed to me that they genuinely cared about the quality of their products. This reinforced my confidence to give it another shot. This camera is not a GoPro. I have used GoPros and I found that although the picture quality is fantastic, the image stabilization is too smooth and unnatural for my application. There is no middle ground, it is either too shaky, or too smooth. The image quality on this camera is not as good as the gopro, but it is very good for how I use it. The stabilization does just enough where I can get usable footage for my application.I don't care if it's waterproof or not, although I am very pleased that it comes with a waterproof shell. It also comes with a standard shell.Since I keep all of my electronics the ones that I carry with me anyways, in a case or a shell. The fact that this camera comes with two shells is a bonus! This camera has worked flawlessly for my application, and I am very happy with it, and I see it as an exceptional value. If I had a complaint, it would be two things:1. The handlebar mount it's lacking. I believe the idea was to make it lightweight and compact. I just needed something beefier. Thankfully there are many accessory packages available that allowed me to find a heavier duty handlebar mount.2. If I had a complaint it would be that it uses .MOV encoding. I really would have preferred MP4 because I cannot play directly from the camera to my TV because it does not support .MOV. I have to convert it to a different file format.Other than that, it's an excellent device and I highly recommend the camera if you don't want to spend GoPro money!ORIGINAL REVIEW:Wanted something GoPro-like for work so I can record my prototype tests.First couple of days, it worked well enough for my application. Then yesterday, the touchscreen was incredibly slow to respond, or was unresponsive.Today, every time I turned it on, it simply froze after approximately 10 seconds, ceasing to function. It has to remove the battery to turn it off.I thought it was a one-off incident. However, again and again, it happened. Now I know for sure that something is wrong.I never dropped it, and I keep it in its case.I'm exchanging it for another one and I'm hoping for the best.

Great bang for your buck
What's to say that hasn't been said? Yes, costs were cut making a budget EOS Camera for the "every man". Thank you Canon for reaching out and up in design and thinking. All the gripes people have about this camera crack me up. It's a great beginner, but suits the seasoned photographer as well. I read where someone called it "plasticky"... people complained that it didn't shoot video in standard def... if you change lenses, it will shoot in standard, for the record.I put a grip on mine, bought some old vintage lenses, threw on some filters and a tulip hood... upgraded the memory card... and after shooting up about 3 cards full of photos as well as 3 full of film since Christmas, I gotta think the world is filled with a bunch of malcontents.Sure... there are gobs and gobs of better more expensive camera's out there, but if this thing came out 10 years ago it would be the most amazing cutting edge tool on the market today. Don't let any bad, picky reviews fool you. This thing is pure Canon soul. I LOVE MINE!!!

works, but could be better
I purchased this to check my golf swing and weightlifting form. It works as intended, holds the phone securely, and is relatively stable. I do have 2 minor issues with the product though.First, the plastic isn't very heavy duty. Which lets be honest, this is a relatively inexpensive product. So that's to be expected. Secondly, I wish that there was another rotating/swivel point for the phone/camera.Currently, It has one point where the camera rotates and another that pivots/bends 180 degrees. Giving it another swivel point, 1 above the bend and 1 below, would allow the stand to hold a phone in portrait mode and still allow you to rotate the phone angle up/down and left/right. As it's currently designed it will only allow up/down once the camera is rotated to portrait mode in the holder. So you have to pick up the whole stand to rotate it. However, his isn't even a big deal unless you have the stand base next to a wall or something that doesn't allow it to rotate.I cannot comment on the bluetooth or remote features as I have not used them.

5 stars for customer service....
Update:As I am not a "techie" I do not know how to fix the IR issue in the camera ...Dzees (Judy) came to par and is sending me a new one it should be here by Dec 3, ...I wasn't expecting much due to the fact that my son-in-law put it in and for me to take it out and send back is a very difficult task (on the eves of our garage) .plus combine this with Alberta cold ...not very feasible to do this.... but Judy did acknowledge this problem and is rectifying it... Thanks a lot Judy ....five stars for customer service !__________________________________________________________________________________Recently we had a few car break ins and very young kids playing with rocks in our driveway potentially damaging our cars...hence we decided on a camera for our property ... easy to install, picture quality for daytime is not the best it is with a pinkish hue (I know some steps could be done but as I' m not an IT person I do not have a clue lol) night time pics are very good ... in a nutshell is a good camera but with a daytime pic issues...that I do not know how to resolve...lol ...Thank you Dzees for solving the problem ...

Good price for auto tracking
First, the camera was very easy to install. I did drill a hole through the wall near an existing electrical outlet indoors. It only required a 3/8 inch hole to run the power cord through the wall, and a dab of caulk to seal it.Everything else is wireless, and installation went very smoothly. The picture quality is good 5 megapixel quality - the same as most of the other cameras out there - but I really like the auto tracking function. The auto tracking is not perfectly fluid, meaning it may move up further or down further than necessary, but it does keep the moving object in the video. The only issue I had is false triggering due to shadows from tree branches. It does not have humanoid detection, so it does pick up the movement of other objects. This only happens during windy days when the branches are swaying creating shadows on the area where it is focused.I have lost power a couple of times at my house and the camera came back online as it was set up once the power was restored. All in all I really like this camera at this price point.

Great monitor
Highly recommend this baby monitor to anyone and everyone!! So many features! It has continuous video recording option or records 30 seconds after each “cry” detected. I love this feature because it allows me to figure out what was happening and look back at it. Very helpful for nap time when going in could wake him but I still want to know what’s going on. It sends an alert to my phone to notify me of the event too. Its extremely easy to set up and use. The blue color is beautiful, it’s the perfect match for my sons ocean themed nursery. I like how it just wraps around his crib and I can move it with me from nap time to play time, so dad can hop on the app and see him playing. The camera picture is clear and there is no lag to it. I hear my sons cry on the monitor and in his room at the same time. Another feature I love is how I can talk to him through the camera and all of the music/sound options that are in the app. We use the white noise. Truly happy with this camera.

Far better than Infant Optics DXR-8
This Eufy camera is much better than the Infant Optics DXR-8.Problems with DXR-8- Setup was easy, but picture quality was middling given the current state of technology, and the wireless signal was spotty.- I live in an apartment building, and even 20 feet over in the next room without walls in between, the signal would fluctuate rapidly between 5 bars and 0 bars -- the video wouldn't noticeably cut out but the audio did (annoyingly) every time that happened.- No VOX. If you want to know what's happening with the baby while you are sleeping, you need to leave the audio on. If you have a white noise machine in the baby's room, you're going to be listening to it too through the monitor.Pros of the Eufy- Video quality is significantly better than the Infant Optics, both in camera resolution and base unit screen quality.- Just as easy to set up -- the base unit is pre-paired with the camera so you just turn it on and you're done.- VOX support. The Eufy has an alarm feature that allows you to lower the volume on the base unit so you don't have to hear everything in the baby's room. When the noise level exceeds a user-adjustable setting, the base unit will beep like an alarm clock to get your attention.Negatives of Eufy- It would be nice if, instead of the VOX alarm (which is sort of annoying when you are sleeping), the VOX feature just activated the audio of the baby at a raised volume. The Eufy now triggers a beeping alarm to wake you up, but then you are going to want to listen to the baby. If it just went to listening to the baby at a high volume level, that's going to wake you up and get you to the end result you want.- No good wall mount. The Eufy comes with a corner wall mount that you can place the camera on. However, the hook cut-out on the base of the camera is non-standard, so there's no straightforward way to hang it from the middle of the wall (not the corner). I contacted Eufy support and they are working on an additional wall mount piece to solve this problem (and indicated they would make it available free of charge to existing customers). But in the meantime, I found that using 2 pieces of Command Picture Hanging Strips on the base of the camera holds it just fine.
