I found the biggest thing that you need to be aware of Is that this mic is to be used with a phone, not a camera system. Once you have that idea firmly planted, it is a great mic for doing podcasts, instructional videos, YouTube videos, etc. Don’t expect cinematic quality sound! But it does offer a nice bit of noise cancellation and automatic adjustments to eliminate static and other annoying sounds that can get in the way of what you’re trying to record. I found that the app actually will do subtitles for your videos, which is especially cool for your Youtube videos.It is definitely a good quality mic, and setup is easy for use. It pairs easily, especially once you get the app that the manufacturer recommends. The instructions actually have the QR code with them so you can simply scan it during the setup. I read where others have used some other sound software so you aren’t tied to theirs, but most found it worked best with the recommended app, SmartMike. It is its own transmitter, so you don’t have to cable it to another one on your belt or such as you do with many lav mics. Then again, it is a little bulkier than many lav mics, just the mic itself, to compensate for this. The lav mic also comes in a nice soft case for storage.
