Handy small binoculars
The magnification was as described. We purchased binoculars to encourage us to bird watch. It does help to see the details of birds especially those that are black and brown. The images shown match what the product will look like.

Great First Telescope
This is the first telescope I brought, so I had no real expectations coming in. It was a gift from Santa last year to my five-year old daughter. I've been pleasantly surprised by it's capabilities. We live in NYC, so not ideal viewing conditions, but on clear nights we've seen the rings of Saturn (small, but clearly differentiated from the planet itself), all four Galilean moon around Jupiter, some faint banding on Jupiter itself, the redness of Mars, and crystal clear craters on the moon. I think it's a fantastic first telescope for a kids since it's very portable and easy to set up. As other reviewers have noted, the tripod is total crap. But hey, $70 to see all that you can see with it (and consume next to no closet space), sign me up.

Works great!
Love the moon light....it gives a nice comforting glow at night.

Fantastic
What a fantastic telescope. My son wanted one to look at the stars and moon whilst camping out in the garden. His friend had one from a well known toy store and they couldn't see anything through it, so I didn't want to buy the same one.I bought this at a great great price, it came via courier 2 days later and I was so pleased. It all comes folded up in a lightweight packback but the tripod opens into a full size tripod.The telescope has lots of extra lenses, is pretty sturdy and all in all is a great buy.My son has already tried it out, on the rare occasion the sky wasn't cloudy, and he could see the moon and stars very clearly. This is a great starter telescope, I would definitely recommend.
