A long while back, I took my dear old Sony A65 to one of the most respected camera stores in L.A. and paid them to do a thorough cleaning on the camera to remove some crud that had accumulated on the sensor. They ran the auto cleaning procedure and did a few other tricks, but ultimately said that, to clean the sensor, it must go back to the manufacturer and was going to cost hundreds of dollars. Right. No, thank you.Flash forward to last week, when I suddenly stumble across a number of "How to clean your camera sensor" videos on YouTube. I'm like - WHAT!!?? I can do this myself?? [Okay, so I'm a little slow, some times.] I watched the videos and thought - this is the stupid-simplest thing on earth. Anyone can do this!! I just need a cleaning kit.I examined various kits online, and finally settled on the VSGO package which contained both swabs and fluid, which arrived a day or two later. I popped off the lens, flipped up the cover, dripped three drops of fluid on swab, held my breath and gently ran the swab across the sensor. And had absolutely no idea if it had worked or not.Closed the sensor cover, put the lens back on, went outside, opened up the exposure and shot some video against a bright white surface [which will reveal any spots on a lens or sensor]. BOOM!! PERFECT!!! A little information from a video, an excellent product from VSGO and less than ONE MINUTE to do the cleaning, and my A65 shoots like new again!Thank you, VSGO!
