Great for long exposure
Love this ND filter and I will get more. You don’t have to break the bank for great results

I like the length of the lens
Arrived well packaged. I'm an amateur photographer. I like the length of the lens. Like other reviews, it worked well for close up images as would be taken with portraits.

Buy if you are advancing beyond standard automatic
My photographer friend recommended this lens. I recommend only buying if you are trying to learn more than what the standard DLS and zoom lenses can give you. This is good for portraits and fast action and is a versatile lens (coming from a pro photographer that I've been working with) but it does take practice to use properly.

Great for International Travel
Takes excellent photos with fixed perspective. Had to adjust to the lack of zoom, but once you get the hang of the lens it takes excellent photos.Small, compact, and easy to travel with overseas to use daily for landscapes and portraits!

Great For Perfecting Your Craft!
I'm going to be honest when I first bought this I was still a little to use to my other lens and a bit spoiled but after actually taking to the street with this baby...I fell in LOVE! This is great for portraits and everyday in general! It forces you to move around a bit more and great for low light situations!

Everything the nifty 50 is supposed to be
So far I have used this to do some street photography and some portraits. I have no issues with quality of photos or video or the operation of the lens. It works equally well with my XTi and T3

Great lens but takes a while to get used to it
I bought this lens because so many people swear by it for portraits (both people and pets). I haven't used it much for people portraits yet but I am quite pleased with the crispness of the pet portraits I have taken (see photos). It also does a great job with still life (see flower photo). Being a fixed lens, you have to make sure you keep a certain distance from your subject in order to get what you want in focus. Otherwise you will find the photos a bit on the blurry side or just not spectacular with regards to bokeh. I'm still trying to figure it out but have to admit, I've gotten some amazing photos while I'm learning! Definitely worth the money; I do recommend buying a hood for it, as it helps keep glare in check, especially outside.

Worth the money
Got this as a give for my Fiancée who is an aspiring food-blogger and she absolutely loves this. It's great for taking close-ups of food, or portraits of family or pets. This lens just takes amazing quality pictures with very little effort. Highly recommended.
