Having previously tried other auxiliary lights for selfies, photography and others, both with clamp and magnetic attachments, this K&F Concept model is the one I have liked the most to date. The product comes well presented in a compact illustrated box. As soon as you hold it in your hand, you can see the medium-high quality finishes, decent (although not premium) plastics that are better than those of many similar devices. DESIGN The design, I think, is a success. It has great flexibility without the need for additional elements, which allows us to carry it everywhere without worrying about how to assemble it. On the other hand, it reduces some flexibility as it is not compatible with screw accessories or camera shoes, although given the range and orientation of the product, it is not lacking. - The device is frankly compact and light, a dust-like disc of 64 mm in diameter and 23 mm in height, weighing 93.5 g and since it has no external elements that get caught or disturbed (threads, clips, etc.) it is perfect to carry it anywhere. - It does not require any type of accessory to fix it, but if the device has Magsafe magnetic adhesion, if not, it includes an adhesive magnetic ring. - The dust-like format opens, showing inside a good quality mirror, which can come in handy when using the rear camera to take a selfie. In addition, this format allows us to place the light on a table and orient it as appropriate. - The opening hinge is completely metal, looks good and has enough strength. It keeps the focus perfectly in place in the position we set. It includes 360-degree rotation for use with the device's front camera. - The bulb also has an extension arm of about 5.5 cm to separate it from the magnetic anchor, allowing it to be used both on the sides and on the top or bottom of the phone. OPERATION - Despite having fewer LEDs (72) than other similar products, it illuminates quite well. In the tests carried out, it is operational up to approx. 1m away and strangely enough I have tried products with more than 100 LEDs that illuminate worse than this one. - The regulation of color intensity and temperature is carried out using analog wheels, which allows these parameters to be adjusted perfectly and is quite a success. The lighting quality is excellent, with a CRI index greater than 95, you can clearly see the difference compared to 80 bulbs. The diffuser works perfectly and the light is homogeneous. - At the battery level, its capacity is not very large and provides maximum power for just over 1 hour. It includes an LED that indicates the charging status and blinks when the battery is low, which is appreciated. Charging via USB-C isn't very fast and takes approximately 90-100 minutes. DETAILS Apart from the fact that its battery is a bit scarce, there are some aspects that could be improved: - When the arm is extended to its maximum length, the focus is not fixed at all, it has slack and dances a little. I wonder if it will suffer other looseness with use. - The ignition is a simple push button and even if you have to keep it 1.5 seconds to activate, it would be appreciated to have a locking mechanism that prevents accidental activation, because when carried in a bag it may be tight against the rest of the contents. - Although I consider wheel adjustment to be an advantage, it can also be an inconvenience if we want to keep the settings at a fixed value (by default), since it is easy for them to be accidentally rotated when transporting it. - Given how compact and portable it is, it would be interesting if it included a small bag or cover to protect it, it would help with the issues mentioned and would prevent it from being scratched or dirty with other things that we carry in our bag or backpack. CONCLUSION Both because of its good finishes, its compact and comfortable design (including details such as the mirror or its use as a mobile phone holder), as well as its lighting quality, this bulb has become my go-to for regular use. The fact that K&F Concept is a company specialized in photography accessories and not a clonic manufacturer that makes you bulbs just like umbrellas, is also a certain guarantee and I think that the bulb is worth every euro it is worth... although a cover would have been nice for them.
