Excellent optical quality
This isn't my first K&F filter, and after this experience, it definitely won't be my last. This filter is from the cheaper series, but honestly, I don't know what could be better in terms of image quality.
There's no loss of sharpness, the multi-coating is really good, and all aspects are what I would expect from something more common and more expensive, like Tiffen. I can only note poor scratch resistance, but that doesn't bother me.
1/4 is the most useful black diffusion in my opinion. 1/2 is a bit too obvious, and 1/8 is too subtle. You can see the difference between 1/4 and no filter in the attached photos. For my aesthetic, this is an EDC filter for both film and digital cameras, especially for shooting digital video.
There's no stacking issue, but if there were, the ribs on the filter would help. They can get in the way when you put a vintage lens cap on the filter (in my case, it's an EDC case), but it's not a big deal.
The plastic case is small and sturdy enough, so I can carry the filter in it for a shoot, which is also useful.
