Nice Item, well made.
I purchased this for use with my Celestron 25 x 100 Binoculars that weigh about 9 pounds. This is not a recommended use for this item, but setting the binoculars up in a safe location and keeping the weight balanced over the base and just pivoting to watch the views it worked well.The actual location was on a cruise ship balcony so we used it as the ship moved along. The key is to balance the weight and get it adjusted to the correct height for eye level viewing.I don't think it would work well for viewing stars or planets unless they were near the horizon.
