Replacement Unit works well for its use applications
In my previous review, I noted missing parts: no way to attach part which receives ball head to this device, included tripod screw not long enough to decently attach to ball head, supposed to have a hook on opposite end with piece to hold counterweight: missing that assembly. I was very unhappy and returned the unit to Amazon.K&F reached out to me and after several emails, they offered to send a new unit directly. Since I have been looking for something like this product, I accepted their offer. The new unit, sent directly from China, is what I should have received earlier. There are no missing parts, there is an instruction sheet, all went together properly and works as advertised. I am guessing the earlier product (which came in a plain brown box, BTW, not the properly-labeled one which I received the second unit) had been returned by someone and either was not completely returned or pieces were lost at Amazon.Based on the new unit, I can now recommend it. Keep in mind that this is not an industrial-strength unit (nor is it priced like one). But for general-purpose use, it is certainly adequate. I suggest you keep an eye on the weight balance so it does not tip over if you put too much weight on the bullhead end (there is a hook on the other end for a counterweight, but I don't think you would want to overweight that end either). For the price, recommended for light/medium weight cameras. For heavier duty, you will likely need a much heavier and much more expensive unit. This fits the bill for me, and I recommend K&F's customer support for their followup.

Compact Size and well built.
I bought this since I wanted a smaller and lighter option than my X-PRO-Ball-Head (MHXPRO-BHQ2). But after getting it in my hand only I realised both are same height and this is only about 100 grams lighter. By the way both have the same load capacity of 10 kilograms. My review of MH496-BHUS is based on my usage of X-PRO-Ball-Head.The plate supplied with MH496-BHUS is 200PL PRO. It works on any ball head with a RC2 clamp. It can also be used on Arca Swiss clamps. But it does not have any locking screws like normal Arca Swiss plates, so if you are not careful it will slide off a Arca Swiss clamp while loosening.ProsIndependent Pan lock.Ball friction adjustment knob.RC2 Clamp. If you are wondering it will work with all 200PL plates. In other words, it works with any plate that is compatible for RC2 clamp.Good Build quality. No Lubrication required, since the ball head is enclosed in a plastic chamber.ConsIn the X-PRO-Ball-Head the friction adjustment is a separate knob and it rotates on incremental steps. But in MH496-BHUS it a separate knob inside the ball locking knob and it rotates freely without any steps. It rotates so freely that accidental touches while using the locking knob changes the friction.ConclusionIf you are in market for a Manfrotto ball head, I would suggest this one, MH496-BHUS (10Kg load) or its smaller brother MH494-BHUS (8Kg Load) over the Manfrotto X-PRO-Ball-Head. These two would cover most of the medium size lens and camera requirements. If you are planning for macro or planning to use longer lenses then only go for X-PRO-Ball-Head , since it has larger ball and provides more stability. When I bought X-PRO-Ball-Head it was on sale in Amazon and I got it for ₹8,634 and MH496-BHUS I got for ~ ₹6750. So do watch out for deals.

Nice compact ball head.
I Bought this to go on my ring light. Can also use it for a small camera go pro or cell phone. I like the size and the only complaint is that the pan was stuck and need it to be oiled before it moved. I may buy one more

Works Very Well
No dislikes, and I just purchased a 2nd unit so that speaks volumes. I attach an RX10 MIV to this & have had NO problems. The ball head is secure & movements are smooth.

Solid, reliable ball head
This is a solid, reliable ball head. It's easy to use, twist, and press. There are a bunch of locking and turning options around so it gives you the flexibility to move around and position your camera. The bigger knob makes it easy to pan around if necessary. I've been able to put big setups on it with no problem.

Well built, works OK
Heavy duty well machined metal. Have a few ball heads and this is a better one especially with separate ball friction knob and lock, but like every ball head I have ever bought settles after locked. This one is no exception. Have to aim a bit higher with longer zooms, lock the head and it will settle down. The quick release plate that comes with it works well and fits into Arca Swiss slots on the head. Most of my zooms have Arch Swiss rin mounts.
