Very good bargain External Flash unit
Bought this unit to use with my Fuji HS20EXR. Great inexpensive external flash. Keep in mind that is is a manual flash - the camera will NOT adjust the flash output - but you can adjust the output manually. Works great in slave mode being activated by the flash on the camera. Probably best used to fill in - bounce flash, etc. - has built in diffuser and white reflector board. Uses 4 AA rechargeable batteries, just like the camera, so that' a plus. Pretty easy to get the hang of how to adjust the flash using a digital camera where you can easily make several shots at different settings. I paired this unit with a Zeikos right angle handle bracket which carries the load of the camera and flash quite well. Very pleased with the unit and the results !

If You Want Perfectly Exposed Flash Pictures With
I have a Canon EOS Rebel XSi/450D DSLR that I use for indoor glamor photography. The camera's built-in flash is often not powerful enough that pictures come out under-exposed, especially after the fifth consecutive shot. It also strains the camera's battery, so that I have to wait about 10 to 15 seconds after each shot before it is ready again. This greatly affects the flow of shooting action, so I decided to buy an external flash.I chose this Canon Speedlite 270EX because both the camera and the flash are Canon-branded and are perfectly matched. Indeed, flash pictures come out extremely well-exposed. This flash unit also allows bounced flash photography. The part of the flash unit that connects to the camera's flash shoe is made of metal, so it is very sturdy. There is also a slide switch on the flash that you can push to lock the flash unit more securely to the camera. Just remember to unlock before trying to remove the unit from the camera. The 270EX is very small and requires just two AA batteries to operate. For faster flash recycling time, I'd recommend using rechargeable batteries rated at 2500 mAh or more. Depending on the duration of shooting, you should have spares of even number of batteries, so that you can quickly swap in freshly charged ones when the flash recycling time becomes unacceptable.Overall, this is a very compact and useful flash unit for Canon cameras. I use it both for the Rebel XSi and G10.

Cheap in price but not quality
Can't believe the price of this flash. Have been keeping my eyes open for a deal on a flash unit. FOUND IT! Very impressed with the quality. Love that it works so well with my DSLR Nikon camera. Using the bounce features has allowed me to take well lit pictures without the over exposed shots I was getting with the pop up flash on the camera. Buy this unit. You will not be disappointed.

270EX Flash perfect for SX20 Canon
This flash unit does not provide the flash power of a full size unit, but it is an improvement over the built in flash unit. I also added a diffuser. It's lightweight and the perfect addition to the Canon SX20 or any other smaller camera that needs a boost when flash is required, with minimal additional weight.

Very powerful and convenient little flash
This flash is great for quick family gatherings and easy to carry. I now keep in my camera bag to use as a fill-in flash. While not intended to replace my Speedlite 600EX with a greater guide number, I find it to be quite an all purpose unit. You can even pan and tilt unit for bounce flash from ceiling or wall. Per the manual, modeling is not supported for EOS R and M cameras.

Excellent external flash for the price.
I purchased this unit to use with my Canon EOS XSi. I have used it for about two months without a single problem. The unit has the ability to swivel the flash head to the ceiling when you are taking horizontal photos and vertical photos. This feature is especially useful when taking a portrait very close to your subject since you can use the bounce flash. Another useful feature is that the flash has a retractable diffuser and white reflector for bounce flash. You can use the diffuser only or both the diffuser and the reflector. The camera integrates seamlessly with the Canon camera but you have to be careful to understand how the flash and the camera work together. For example if you set the camera to shutter priority (Tv setting) you must understand that the Canon camera will treat the flash as a fill flash for your scene. One excellent feature of this flash is the fact that you can set it as a slave. I have a point and shoot camera that has limited flash range. However if you use this flash on slave mode, you have the power (Flux) to use bounce flash with your point and shoot camera. All you have to do is hold the flash with one arm and shoot with the camera with the other. With respect to power consumption, I shot about 400 flash photos with one set of Kodak Alkaline batteries. I also have used rechargeable batteries with no problems.

Excellent Value
I've had the opportunity to use the Voking VK750II Speedlight (Nikon Version). After adding 4 AA batteries, and attaching the unit to a Nikon D800, the flash and camera immediately worked as one, using thru the lens (TTL) metering to adjust the flash. The reticulating flash head adjustments feel solid when turned either horizontally (360 degrees) or vertically (to bounce flash up to 90 degrees). The features are comparable with the brand name manufacturers, too much to list here. Besides what's already listed above, the highlights are: An internal motorized flash zoom adjustment. It can work as a slave flash. ISO syncs with the camera. Exposure can be manually adjusted by 1/3 stops. There is a built-in wide-angle diffuser. The unit comes with a stand, cloth case and instruction booklet. Overall, this unit combines great features with a quality build and should definitely be on the list for those looking for an excellent value.
