This is my review of the K&F Concept High Speed Speedlite Flash for Nikon and Canon DSLR cameras. To be honest, before getting this product, I had high expectations – having been a product tester on Amazon for a while now, I understood that $79.99 was a price point that was relatively high in “Amazon currency” as I like to call it. My expectations were met for the most part, with some aspects being surprisingly better and some being worse than expected.Just before I get the review started, I would like to disclose that I am no professional photographer, and I have a beginner to intermediate understanding of photography and cameras. Keep this in mind when reading my review.☯ COMPACT REVIEW▅ ▇ PROS+ Very well-built & robust+ Metal hot shoe lock is secure, but not too tight+ External flash is very secure when lock is tightened+ Feels very nice and solid & heavy in the hand, but not to the point where it’s overweight.+ Built-in bounce card & wide-angle diffuser(wide-angle diffuser is unnecessary for any lens narrower than 18mm)+ 8 steps of manual control with 1/8th stop increments(1/128, 1/64, 1/32, 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, and 1/1)+ Very intuitive controls with tactile rubber buttons+ Screen text is CRISP with bright LED backlighting+ Tilts vertically from 0 to 90 degrees+ 270 degree head rotation+ Manual zoom available+ Max 180mm zoom range+ High speed sync: the K&F flash manages to go up to 1/10000s, and with faint lines on 1/20000s.+ 2.9s recycle time+ Features 3 modes: Manual mode, S1 mode, and S2 mode+ S1 mode is SUPER sensitive and fires every time, as long as you give it time to charge.+ S2 mode – will only fire once your master and 1st slave have fired.+ Very nice, high quality fabric pouch included – great for travel & carrying around+EXTREMELY helpful instructions manual – I was able to learn most of the flash’s features during my testing from the manual.+ Blue LED indicator for notifying the user when the flash is charged+ PC Cord Socket available+Charge beep feedback to notify flash is ready for action▁ ▃ CONS- No TTL function- 4 AA batteries required are not included(I got them at my local dollar store for about $2. No big deal.)- No PC Sync cord included- No battery level indicator- No automatic (auto zoom) mode- No master unit control▇▇ VERDICT ▇▇This external flash is perfect for beginning or intermediate photography enthusiasts – the flash offers enough functionality to get some quality shots, at a price point that is reasonable, and then some. I remember a time when I went into a Best Buy store to find out that external flashes for DSLRs from Canon or Nikon or other famous brands cost more than $150 – it’s quite amazing that there’s products like the K&F external flash these days, bringing flattering quality and functionality at an affordable price....***Note that I received this product at a discounted price for testing and review purposes.
