Thank you for taking the time to read my review
For those who don't feel like reading through everything, I'll write a pro and con and a conclusion at the end.
Today I would like to write my personal opinion on the K&F Concept backpack shoulder strap mount for action cams, which I was able to test as part of the Vine program. This does not influence my review in any way. I hope I can help you decide for or against the product.
What do I use the mount for?
For longer hikes where I want to take pictures of the trail with an action cam (GoPro or Insta 360), I previously had a metal clamp on the backpack shoulder strap.
The disadvantage of such a clamp for me is that, depending on the load in the backpack, it can start to press on the chest.
That's why I'm trying out a Velcro alternative.
The set contains:
- 1x shoulder strap holder with 360 degree rotating holder
- 1x cell phone holder
- 1x screw for attaching the action cam
- 1x quick release fastener (type J)
How does the holder perform in use?
The holder can be attached to the backpack very quickly using Velcro and, as with other holders, the camera can simply be clicked in using a suitable quick release fastener. The camera can be secured using the screw and holds its position quite well.
The problem I have with the holder compared to the metal clamp is that this holder slips down slightly after a while when moving (more or less depending on the backpack). So this holder is not a perfect solution, but due to the more comfortable fit, it is a good alternative for short parts of the route (at least for me). Since I don't always want to record the entire route but often only short sections, the holder can be taken along depending on the intended purpose.
One positive thing is the included cell phone holder. I hardly ever use it, but for many people it could be a great thing. Even if the holder is "only" made of plastic, the phone is still firmly clamped and does not fall out of the holder even with normal movement.
Pro:
+ Quick to attach and remove
+ Cell phone holder included
+ Holder can be rotated 360 degrees
Con:
- Can slide down the strap with "heavier" action cameras or movement
Conclusion
The holder is well suited for recording a small part of the route. It is small, light and can be attached to the backpack very quickly. When hiking, however, the holder sometimes slides down the strap a little, which is why I would recommend a firmer alternative such as a clamp for longer hikes or in the event of strong vibrations.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope I was able to help you make a decision.
Best wishes, Nicolas
