Nice camera but a little overpriced
I decided to give this a try after several months of using - and really enjoying - my Feiyu G6 gimbal with a GoPro attached. I love the G6 but I liked the idea of an all in one solution, an action camera built into a gimbal that requires less set up.First off, yeah, it works very well. The camera is excellent, and my wife especially loves the face tracking. It runs incredibly smoothly, and as a technically inept person I find the camera very intuitive to use. In fact that's what first attracted me to the Pocket 2. I always struggled to mount and balance my GoPro on a gimbal as I have the technical skills and spatial reasoning of a brick, so it makes it much easier to use a built in camera. Here's the problem, though. The Pocket 2 is touted as an action camera, but for me it doesn't quite meet the criteria. An action camera needs to be waterproof, or at least highly water resistant, and with a standalone action camera that's usually a standard feature. Your gimbal may not be waterproof, but if you need to get in the water you can detach your camera temporarily. The Pocket 2, however, is not waterproof. Not even close. The handle has several ports into which water could flow freely, so you're not going to want to get this thing wet. That limits the uses of this camera to dry land, which feels a little restrictive. If you don't think you'll ever need to take surface or underwater shots with your camera I'd say this is a very attractive option. It's well built and easy to use, and the output is excellent. If you need a true action camera, though, I'd recommend a GoPro or similar with a standalone gimbal.
