I received this tripod and have been using it with a DSLR and a small video camera. It has performed very well so far.

The first thing I noticed was the stability. The aluminum construction feels sturdy without being overly heavy, and once the legs are extended and locked in place, the tripod feels very secure. I’ve used it both indoors and outside, and it holds position well without any wobble. The 80" height range is also helpful because it gives plenty of flexibility depending on the shot.

First off, this is a very well-made tripod. The head is very smooth and makes panning shots like butter. The stability of this tripod is amazing. It holds some serious weight—an A7RV along with cage, grips, battery, monitor, and all the bells and whistles you would hook up to it. The tripod keeps it stable and worry-free. Setup and folding it back up are really simple. The legs slide easily, and it folds up nicely to fit back in its bag. I’m impressed with this tripod for its usability. It’s definitely a great place to start.

heavy but very stable!

I picked up this 80 inch video tripod to handle a heavier rig and it feels properly overbuilt in a good way. The fluid head pans and tilts smoothly enough for real-world video work, the quick release plate is straightforward to lock in, and once the legs are spread with the mid-level support it feels rock solid, even when I extend it high to shoot over people. The included case is handy for transport and setup is fast enough that I am not fighting with knobs between shots.

It is definitely on the heavier and bulkier side compared to travel tripods, so I would not choose it for casual lightweight mirrorless walkaround use, but that extra weight is exactly what makes it feel trustworthy with longer lenses and larger camera setups. After using it for multiple sessions I have not seen any wobble, sagging, or cheap flex points, and the head performance feels above what I expected at this price.

I have two other tripods of this design...one at about $125, the other at about $500. Price-wise this matches the other budget friendly one, as that is what I was in the market for...but it is a step ABOVE the similar priced one in terms of quality. There is a noticeable lack of quality when compared to the expensive one, but you expect that. This is a great entry point into this style of tripod if you are curious, or just know you need good stable footage but don't have a commercial budget to work with. The fluid head works pretty well, and certainly well enough for how I want to use the tripod...which is a third camera that is gimbal mounted, so I need something that can hold some weight, hold the position, but also be smooth pan & tilt when I need it...and while this isn't the best fluid head I have tried, it IS the best one at the price point I have tried. This would be my new standard budget video tripod if I were still in the market, or eyeing filling out a studio at a reasonable price. The one area of concern I have is the feet...they just feel so small and tiny compared to both my other two...but that is the only deficiency I can find. I would recommend this one for those looking to control costs.

This tripod was impressive from the moment I opened the box. It comes packed in a beautiful and thick carrying case with a couple of handles so you can carry it like a briefcase. There's a couple of loops on the bag's body on either end, presumably for a shoulder/crossbody strap, but mine didn't come with any strap. That's too bad, because while it's not overly heavy this tripod is no lightweight and being able to carry it over the shoulder would be highly practical in many situations.

The quick-disconnect cold shoe comes with 3 different sized threaded connectors for basically anything that can mount on a tripod. The shoe is long and can be moved forward and back while still being locked to the tripod, then you secure it with a side mechanism once you've got it in place. The entire head is mounted by a gimbal-like ball mechanism so if you're set up outdoors or on uneven terrain you can always level your head before shooting. A built in bubble level makes sure you get it flat every time.

The fluidity of the head makes taking panning shots a dream. No worries about quick jerks of the camera with this guy, everything's a smooth, measured move for easy shooting. The arm or handle can be positioned in many ways and moved to either side of the head so you've always got the handle just where you need it.

The legs are double-pole legs giving them all added stability. The locking lever mechanisms really hold tight and the legs are solid as a rock once extended and set. And this thing gets TALL with 3 segments to each leg you'll find this tripod gets high enough to shoot over a crowd.

The specs say it'll hold up to 17.6 pounds, but this thing is so sturdy I wouldn't be surprised if it could hold a lot more. I wouldn't recommend pushing the load limit, though, as this is too nice a tripod to chance breaking it. Sure, it's not cheap, but it's well worth the current asking price. Taking into account the quality, durability, functionality, features, and price I'd say this is a fantastic value on one of the best tripods I've ever used.
