Inter for top-quality cameras, and we can already see how beautiful the packaging is. It comes in a padded box, perfect for storage and travel. The lens itself is compatible with all 72mm photographic devices. Excellent color resolution also allows for better and higher-quality black and white shots, but above all, it sharpens even the most out-of-focus details. I find it easy to use if you're already a bit of a photography expert, but it's still a great fit. It also comes with a microfiber cleaning cloth.

This K&F 2-in-1 filter is a clever idea for anyone who uses both a CPL and a mist filter while shooting. Instead of stacking two bits of glass, this gives you the glare control of a polariser with the gentler highlight bloom of a quarter strength mist filter. I tried it on a lens I normally use for outdoor portraits, and the mix of contrast control and subtle diffusion feels about right. The mist effect is not heavy, more of a soft lift around highlights, which is what I prefer when shooting in bright conditions.

The colour rendering stays neutral. I did not see that warm or green shift that some budget filters create. Reflections are noticeably reduced when you rotate the front ring and the coatings seems to keep stray light under control. It gives the image a slightly matte look in harsh sun, which helps when I am shooting in the middle of the day with limited shade. The CPL ring turns smoothly, not loose, and the overall build feels tidy for the price.

The filter adds a small amount of light loss, which is expected, but it is still usable for video without forcing settings too far. The thin profile keeps vignetting to a minimum on my lenses. The only small detail that stood out is that my lens cap does not grip quite as firmly on the filter threads, so it takes a bit of extra care when packing my camera bag.
For anyone who wants to keep their kit simple, this is a neat way to travel lighter without giving up creative control.

Pros:
Combines CPL and mist filter in one
Neutral colour rendering
Smooth rotation
Good flare control
Soft, natural diffusion effect

Cons:
Some lens caps may not grip tightly
Slight light loss when polarising

The K&F Concept True Color and Ultra Low Reflection CPL and Black Mist 1/4 Filter is a practical option for outdoor portraits and video. It's well made, and a practical and convenient combo filter, and adds a certain gentle cinematic look while keeping images clean.

As someone who enjoys photography and experimenting with different looks in camera, I was excited to try this K&F Concept 2-in-1 CPL and Black Diffusion filter. I normally carry multiple filters when shooting, but switching between them can be inconvenient, especially when the lighting changes quickly. This filter caught my attention because it combines two useful effects in one piece of glass, which makes shooting much simpler.

The build quality was the first thing that stood out when I opened the package. The filter feels solid, well-made, and professionally finished. The metal frame is sturdy and the glass itself looks very clean and clear. The threading is smooth as well, which made attaching it to my 67mm lens quick and easy without any resistance.

What I like most about this filter is the combination of CPL and black diffusion effects. Normally these would require stacking two separate filters, but this design integrates them together. This means fewer accessories to carry and no need to keep removing filters while shooting.

The CPL (circular polarizer) side works exactly as expected. When rotating the filter, it reduces reflections on non-metallic surfaces such as water, glass, or leaves. I noticed that it also helps enhance colors, particularly the sky and foliage, which gives outdoor photos a more vibrant look.

At the same time, the 1/4 black diffusion effect adds a subtle cinematic softness to highlights. This effect is especially noticeable when photographing light sources, portraits, or scenes with bright highlights. Instead of harsh highlights, the light becomes slightly softer and more atmospheric.

I really enjoyed using this filter for portrait photography. The diffusion effect adds a gentle glow to highlights and helps soften skin tones slightly without making the image look blurry. It creates a more natural and pleasing look straight out of the camera.

Another benefit is the true color reproduction. The optical glass used in this filter does a good job maintaining natural color balance. Even with the polarizing effect active, the colors remain consistent and accurate without strange color shifts.

The nano coating on the glass is another useful feature. It helps reduce reflections, ghosting, and flare, especially when shooting toward bright light sources like sunsets or street lights. I noticed that images remain clean and clear even in challenging lighting conditions.

Cleaning the filter is also very easy thanks to the water- and oil-repellent coating. Fingerprints or dust wipe away quickly with a microfiber cloth, which is helpful when shooting outdoors.

The filter also feels durable enough for regular use. The hardened coating protects against small scratches and makes it easier to maintain over time.

Another practical advantage is avoiding vignetting that can sometimes happen when stacking multiple filters. Because both effects are combined in one filter, the lens setup remains slimmer and more balanced.

For photographers who enjoy cinematic visuals, portraits, travel photography, or landscapes, this filter provides a nice balance between creative diffusion and practical polarization.

In everyday use, it’s a very convenient accessory that saves time while still offering professional-looking results. It has quickly become one of those filters that stays on my lens for many types of shoots.

I tested the 82mm version of the K&F Concept 2-in-1 filter during several portrait sessions, and the experience proved very convincing.

The filter comes with a cleaning cloth and, most importantly, a very well-designed protective case. The filter is held securely inside by silicone inserts, which effectively protect it during transport. Another practical detail: the case is designed to accommodate several filter sizes, making it reusable if you own other diameters.

In the field, the quality of the glass and the Nano-Xcel coating is immediately apparent. The integrated CPL polarizing filter helps control reflections, especially on skin, by reducing glare and improving skin tone saturation. Simultaneously, the Black Mist 1/4 diffusion provides a subtle cinematic effect: highlights become slightly softer, contrasts are somewhat reduced, and skin appears smoother while retaining detail.

The colors remain very neutral, with no visible color cast, which limits post-production corrections. Combining CPL and diffusion in a single filter is also very practical: it avoids stacking multiple filters, reduces the risk of vignetting, and simplifies handling in the field.

One small point for improvement, however: it's a shame the filter name isn't printed on the storage case. When you own several filters, this would have allowed for quicker identification. Nevertheless, this is a minor detail that doesn't detract from the overall quality of the product.

Conclusion

In my opinion, this K&F Concept filter is an excellent solution for photographers and videographers who want to both control reflections with CPL and add a softer, more artistic touch with Black Mist diffusion.

The quality of the materials, the very clean optical rendering, and the clever storage case complete an overall very successful product. A versatile accessory that I wholeheartedly recommend for those seeking a natural look with a subtle cinematic signature.

This filter performs very well with a noticeable reduction in glare and reflections, retention of colour plus shadowed areas have a slight matte to them. It's like a CPL filter with an S curve. Because it's darkened, it allows an extra 3 or 4 stops in aperture and is therefore also great for video to achieve smoother motion. The quality of the filter is excellent and the only minor issue I have is that my Canon lens cap doesn't clip onto the filter securely and easily falls off. It has minimal reflection and colours are more vivid in bright conditions. It's a pleasure to use and will always be on my lens for for all outdoor portraiture.

Full disclosure - I received this filter via the Amazon Vine review program. Neither Amazon nor K&F has a say over my review.

I am not a professional photographer, but I have been an enthusiast for many years - starting with 35mm film. I do enjoy using physical filters in my photography (more on that below) and so I was keen to try this K&F Black Mist/CPL combo filter. I ordered the 82mm version particularly to try out on my Sigma 35mm 1.2 Art - a lens I thought may be fun with a filter like this in certain circumstances - especially environmental portraiture.

The K&F Concept NANO-X Series Black Diffusion and CPL filter is a premium filter intended to provide a mild 'dreamy' look to images and video, by blooming highlights while still providing good black levels. Those into video production might be more familiar with this. I am primarily a stills shooter, and this is the first time I've laid hands on such a filter.

My impression of K&F in the past has been of a budget low-end brand, somewhere around the level of Neewer - maybe a little better. It's obvious now that they're punching up and releasing ever higher-quality products. This particular filter sits up in the premium range, employing Japanese optical glass and advanced coatings to produce a compelling product. The likes of B+W should not sit on their laurels, less they become irrelevant in the face of such competition.

My thoughts on this filter:

- I took comparison shots on a brightly lit day hoping to introduce some 'bloom' to see what it's all about. For this I took shots with no filter, some with the K&F diffusion/CPL Filter, and some with a reasonably well performing Sirui CPL filter.

- The diffusion effect on the K&F is there, but very mild - this is what I expect from a 1/8 diffusion filter though. I expect this might be better in night photography or stronger lighting conditions. Comparing with the cheaper Sirui CPL, which was a little smeary at the time (cheap diffusion effect), there honestly wasn't a great deal of difference at a glance. The K&F did offer a benefit in achieving that highlight effect while keeping the darks fairly contrasty though - slightly more clarity overall. I need to experiment with this more and look forward to doing so.

- Polarisation is mild, but nice and smooth. It was about on par with the Sirui as far as I could tell.

- Colour balance - while I didn't use a chart, just examining the raw shots in my images and comparing vs no filter, the K&F appears to have done an excellent job. It wasn't noticeable different to zero filter based on the RGB channels. The Sirui CPL did add a warm cast, but the K&F seems neutral.

- Build - no complaints here - very nicely constructed and finished. I really do prefer a nice brass B+W ring - that's just me. I have seen people complain about getting this filter on and off the lens - I think this is really something you need to take care with, as filters are incredibly easy to cross-thread regardless of the make (a filter wrench is not a bad idea - back the filter out as soon as you feel it bind). I do think brass rings fair much better here.

- Coatings - these look good with a nice low reflectivity. I did not perform exhaustive testing, but with the sun from above and slightly behind my scene I didn't notice any significant flaring or nasty artefacts.

- Price - well, K&F doesn't seem to be a budget brand now, with this filter coming in at over AUD200 for the 82mm version (to be fair, this is on the large side). Still, there are frequent discounts on K&F and I have to acknowledge that the glass and coatings appear to be high quality and obviously expensive to engineer and manufacture. In comparison to other premium lens filters I think the RRP is reasonable but I would always look to buy these on a discount, which makes them a much more compelling product.

So with modern image processing allowing so much post-processing latitude, why would you buy a filter like this? It could be argued that there is a bit of fiddling to achieve the same ends in post - and perhaps an inability to achieve exactly the same effect. Or, like me, you just like to do things the old fashioned way. It's a valid point though, but in no way detracts from the utility of this excellent filter.

I'd like to try the 1/4 now. Another filter to add to my stack. It's great to see more serious competition in this market!
K&F becomes a premium brand? This line of filters may offer a pleasant surprise. K&F becomes a premium brand? This line of filters may offer a pleasant surprise. K&F becomes a premium brand? This line of filters may offer a pleasant surprise.

This filter is both a polarizer and a diffusion filter, allowing you to reduce highlights. Yes, it will make the image softer, but that's the desired effect, especially for filmmakers and photographers seeking a vintage look.

The filter's quality is excellent; it's made of aluminum, yet remains lightweight and very well-made. The cleaning cloth is a nice touch and always welcome.

The quality is excellent. I use it with a Sigma 40mm Art (EF) lens, and given the sharpness of this lens, this filter is an excellent addition for making images more authentic and less harsh, as well as significantly reducing reflections, particularly with sensitive lenses.

The price is high, but the quality is there, and it remains inexpensive compared to other brands, so I highly recommend it.

Before I get to the filter, I have to say I love the included case which has rubber mats with groves in them which allows the filter to sit in securely when the lid is closed but quick to get out when needed.

As for the filter itself, it's extremely well made and you can definitely tell the quality is decent.

This filter combines a 1/4 mist and CPL which works really well together — you get that nice light bloom effect whilst being able to control the reflections on surfaces.

I tested the K&F Concept 2-in-1 filter in the 82mm version for my portrait photography. The filter comes with a cleaning cloth in an innovative case. The storage solution is particularly noteworthy, as the filter is securely held in place inside by silicone inserts. Since the case is designed to accommodate various filter sizes, it's also compatible with other lens diameters.

The filter's build quality is excellent. Despite its dual function as a circular polarizing filter (CPL) and black mist diffusion filter, the mount is surprisingly lightweight. Compared to my regular standard filter, this model is noticeably lighter, which improves handling on the camera. The tactile feedback when rotating the polarizing filter is precise, and the resistance is pleasantly consistent.

In practical use, the optical quality of the Nano-Xcel coating truly shines. The integrated polarizing filter allows me to precisely control reflections on the skin and minimize unwanted shine, thus enhancing the saturation of natural skin tones. At the same time, the 1/4 strength Black Mist component provides a subtle, cinematic look. Highlights gain a soft glow (bloom), and contrasts in the midtones are slightly softened. This results in a natural smoothing of skin texture without completely losing fine details.

Technical features such as ultra-low reflection and true-color properties ensure that no distracting color casts occur. In my tests, I observed very neutral color reproduction, which minimizes post-processing effort. The combination of both effects in a single glass element also saves time when changing lenses and prevents the additional risk of vignetting from stacked filters.

I consider this filter an excellent solution for photographers who want to combine technical control over reflections with an artistic, softer image effect. The material quality and the well-designed case round out the professional package.
