Good little cam
1. The day/night sensor is too sensitive to distant lights. It often fails to trigger the IR LEDs when there is a low-level illumination (distant house and moon) -- first photo. This threshold could/should be set in the camera set up menus.2. When the IR LEDs do come on, the illumination pattern is too narrow for the camera field of view (that's fox eyes to the right in the second photo, which is a screen grab from a video).3. The manual says the PIR motion detection trigger can be set as low as 0.1 seconds (with an admittedly high false alarm rate -- that I could live with), but the set up on the camera has a minimum of 10 seconds. A lot happens (in my application) between one second and 10 seconds.4. There's always some sort of curved blockage on the right side of videos (see second snap). For my application, it's not fatal, but is annoying. To capture those first few seconds with a lower false alarm (trigger) rate, the system could buffer the initial period. If no further motion is detected, the buffer could be flushed. If motion continues, then the capture would include the first few seconds. The company has no web site or registered domain, but they did respond to an email sent to the address on the printed manual. The camera may be well suited to other uses and applications -- as other reviews suggest -- but it's not for me.
