This is my first action camera, so I don't have a point of comparison to other brands such as GoPro. I purchased it primarily to be used for taking videos of my kids sports, where it could be set on a tripod, turned on, and then not have to worry about it taking a random hit from a soccer ball or volleyball. The camera itself works great, and the picture has been really good. I've been using it on 2.7k resolution and it's crystal clear, especially compared to friends of mine who use iPads to record games. The other reason I bought it is it's small size, which makes it easy to carry around. I bought a small case to house the camera and all the components. Very handy and easily transportable. Overall, it does exactly what I was hoping for.The one downside I will note is that it doesn't work with memory cards larger than 64GB. It's not a huge deal, but I initially used a 128GB card as I wanted to be able to video an entire weekend worth of games without worrying about space issues. But the camera had issues with it formatting the card and I ended up losing some of my recorded footage. I tried another card and still had the same problem. I thought it was a malfunction with the camera, but upon doing some reading, found where it said not to use a card larger than 64GB. So just make sure you're aware of that going in. That's my only fault with the camera. If that's not an issue for you, than it's a 5-star camera.
