First set returned 2nd set looking good
Using iphone 13 pro Plus firmware 16.02 Airpods started with 5A374 and automatically updated to 5A377 within half an hour. I pre-ordered these on Sept 18 so they are likely from the first batch. At first, they were easy to set up, sounded great and noise canceling, and transparency mode all seemed good. Within a few minutes of trying them they upgraded to firmware 5A377. A while later they disconnected and I had to put them back in the pod and take them out again to reconnect. This continued to occur and I don't know if it would have been the same with the previous firmware since I didn't use it long enough and there's no option to roll back. Next they started crackling noises randomly, one or both buds would disconnect randomly or they’d just stop working. Each time I had to put them back in the pod for a few seconds and try again. Over the next couple of weeks I did a factory reset twice as recommended by Amazon and that did not help. I later removed them and added them to my old iphone 7 and had the same problems. Removed and back to my 13 Pro and same thing. I've found a lot of people on macrumors reporting the same issues. I hoped it was just a firmware issue but after trying on two different phones I contacted Amazon and went through their process and ultimately returned them and ordered a new pair. Hopefully it's an issue with the first batch? I don't know.Oct 24: Update. Received my new set yesterday. Charged them up and set them up about 9 hours ago. Been wearing them for the past 5-6 hours, have listened to some music and had a 30+ minute phone call with no issues so far. This pair came with the newer 5A377 firmware already installed. Hopefully mine were faulty or the first batch had an issue but so far so good. The first set never went this long without disconnecting and crackling. I’ll update this post if the issues return.

I was impressed with the quality of the set. Usually these sets are poor quality but for an entry level set this is really good. The stands are the only part that could be a bit better but overall very good for the price.

Good value to start a smart home set up.
Easy to install , set up is also a breeze . All switches work good. The schedules and timer set works great.
