Sturdy, light weight, comes with a carry bag, though the legs have to be folded back for the tripod to fit in the bag with the ball head attached but that's easy to do. The BH-36 ball head is adequate (it certainly does what it's supposed to do) - anything bigger, and it wouldn't fit in the bag.

I got this for a friend and I think she's going to be well pleased with it. I have a (hugely expensive) old Gitzo tripod with Kirk ball head which are pretty well perfect, but if this tripod/ball head had been available back then, I think I might have opted to save myself a packet. The twist lock on my Gitzo only needs a very slight twist to engage securely whereas the K&F needs almost a half twist to ensure the legs don't collapse, so it does take a little longer to set up (that and my Gitzo only has 3 sections to the K&F's 4). Similarly with the locks on the ball head. Nevertheless, this tripod is going to serve her very well and will securely support anything she needs to mount on it.

One thing the K&F has that my Gitzo doesn't: one of the legs can be removed to use as a monopod and the ballhead can be transferred to the top of it. Very handy on occassion.
