Perfect!
Overall, I’ve love using this ND filter for my camera lenses. I’m excited to share my thoughts on it.
The packaging is nice, and I trust this brand because I’ve bought from K&F before. I remember purchasing an ND filter from them a long time ago, and the quality was great even then. You’ll find this filter in a branded translucent box. It’s very nice, and the box itself keeps the ND filter safe and clean for traveling.
I’ve had issues with other ND filters where the higher ND you go, the X pattern shows on your image. This one doesn’t have that problem. They actually promised on the filter that they improved on that aspect. I can confidently say that this one doesn’t have the X pattern like the others and the filters I’ve tried in the past.
The quality of this filter is also good. It’s well-built and I believe it’s made of steel. I also love how this filter is magnetic. You can preinstall the magnetic ring around your lens’s diameter ring, and whenever you need to use the filter, you can just snap it on instead of twisting it on. I’ve found this very convenient because not every shot requires ND.
The color accuracy is mostly accurate. I do notice a slight tint shift towards the warmer/green side of the color spectrum. You can compensate with some tint adjustment directly in camera or in post-production, but overall, I don’t think it’s a major problem.
This filter has very good functionality because of the magnetic feature. It’s super convenient for me, and the magnets themselves are pretty strong. I wouldn’t use this magnetic filter for heavy action shots because I feel like it might fall off in those situations. However, it works very well for typical practical uses and fits the 82 mm diameter perfectly.
Overall, I highly recommend this ND filter for anyone looking for one in this price range and with many corrections compared to other filters like the X pattern I mentioned earlier. This one is perfect for me and will be used on many higher-end and production shoots. Great value for the money!
