The Insta360 X5 now features replaceable lenses, but I still opted to use these guards - for peace of mind and because they’re more affordable than the full lens kit. Installation is simple and tool-free, as long as you’ve cleaned the lenses beforehand. I also appreciate the notch design, which keeps the microphone exposed.So far, performance has been solid. I’ve noticed some lens flares - more than I experienced with the X4 - which might be due to differences in optical design or maybe the more aggressive image processing on X5.Overall, these guards are a practical solution to prevent scratches and damage.If you’re not diving or frequently filming in direct sunlight, these are a smart way to protect your X5 lenses without breaking the bank.
