An almost essential addition to your 360 camera
Lens guards for both lenses on a 360 camera should almost be the first thing you get, and fit them before you start using it. The nature of the bulbous lenses sticking out means that it's almost impossible for them not to be exposed to damage. If you lie it down, it's lying on the lenses. If you stand it up to keep it off the lenses, it'll end up falling over straight onto the lens. I really do recommend a pair of lens protectors like this from K&F.K&F do a lot of accessories for action cameras and I've got several that have all been pretty good so far. I use them for my DJI Osmo Nano, and my 360 cameras. I would note now that the new Insta360 X4 Air has smaller lenses than the X5 so these lens guards will not fit that, however they're perfect for your X5.They're a little expensive, granted, but much cheaper than replacing full lenses so I think it's a solid investment. They're easy to fit and don't impair the performance of you camera in any way. Recommnded.
