Tall, Capable, and Surprisingly Good at Tracking
Still not entirely sure why I picked this one up, but I’m glad I did. The tripod is impressively tall. I’m 6 feet tall, and when it’s fully extended the mount actually looks down at me, which gives it a lot more flexibility than most compact tracking tripods. The tracking performance is better than expected. Once it locks on, it follows smoothly and keeps the subject centered most of the time. I tested it with an action camera using the 1/4-inch screw mount (instead of a phone), and after disabling in-camera stabilization, I got smooth, stable, high-quality footage. When the unit loses tracking, it does get a bit “confused” and tends to drift or settle looking off to one side, but it quickly recovers once it reacquires the target. Gesture controls work reliably after a bit of practice, and the included remote is a nice bonus, though it did not work with my Action 5 pro.If you’re looking for a tall, versatile tracking tripod that can handle both phones and small cameras, this one’s a solid choice.Pros:Extends tall enough for full-height filmingTracking is accurate and smoothWorks with action cams via 1/4" mountGesture control and remote both work wellCons:Loses orientation briefly when tracking is interruptedTakes a bit of learning to master gestures
