Neutral density filters open up a world of options and possibilities in photography. Their function is to reduce the intensity of light reaching the sensor, meaning they're used when there's excessive light. The most common situations in which they're used are the following: When you want a longer exposure time, to achieve the silk effect in water. When you want to use a larger aperture. And when you have a highly exposed image, for example, in a landscape photo with a highly exposed sky, or to take a photo of a light bulb, they're frequently used. As you can see in the photos I've taken against a light bulb and against colored LEDs. I mainly bought it to achieve the silk effect in water or the sky, as this way the movement will look very fluid, as if it were fading away. The ND1000 filter removes 10 stops of light, allowing you to take photographs with 30-second exposures or even longer in broad daylight. The filter is made of glass, so the quality is very good, unlike resin filters. Thanks to this, there are no casts or chromatic aberrations. Very happy with the purchase.
