For so little money - a top pancake! Current firmware should be flashed (v05)
First of all: I bought this lens in autumn 2017, but not via Amazon, I paid a whopping EUR 349 at the time, and I haven’t regretted it for a second. It got better from firmware v02, mine was pre-installed at the time, I got the Samyang USB Dock (50 EUR approx.) in 2018, and flashed the firmware v03, v04, v05 - with the current v05 it works really well, AF is faster a track, and accurate. As the owner of an A7(R) Mark III, you should definitely have flashed at least the v03 firmware due to the firmware improvements. You can get this beautiful lens used for a mere 140-150 EUR nowadays (as of Nov. 2020), and there is no cheaper full-frame compatible (FE) lens with autofocus for the A7 series. In short, with the old, but by no means bad A7, a top combo - very small & light, enough for 90% of all photographic requirements, since it's universal and my favorite focal length - 35mm, via SLR since the end of the 80s. (Minolta X700, XD7, CONTAX 167mt, RTS II, etc)
