I have used it with a canon 70-200 and sigma 150-600. Both have lens rings. The canon 70-200 was handled well with light to no wind. The Sigma had issues. The ball head was not quite strong enough to eliminate drift.

I swapped on a manfroto ball head so that I can use those standard plates. I also prefer the snap instead of slide plates.

Not sure. It comes with a plate that has a standard camera-style tripod screwmount. If your scope has a thread for a screw it will probably work.

I don’t think so. I night this to use on my Nikon D3100 with a Tamron 70-300. Neither are very heavy but this head would not keep my camera still. It crept down no matter how tight I made it. I think your camera and lens are heavier so I would go with a better name brand.

Most, if not all Cameras have a regular Tripod Screw thread so this will work as expected.
