This was bought to make handheld filming more stable without going into a full cage rig, and it definitely improves confidence when shooting on the move.

The product makes recording vlogs and other content much easier, as you grip it like a normal camera rather than an action camera, if you prefer this. The product comes with both the case and the grip, and the grip is detachable if that is preferred.

The case is of very high quality; it protects the whole camera, including the lenses. If it drops, the case will protect it.

I would definitely recommend this product; it is of incredibly high quality.

Firstly, an observation: When I fitted the shutter release bar initially - with the Action 6 switched on - pressing the bar gave an error of "Water pressure too high" and I was unable to take any photos or video until restarting the unit. Powering the camera on with the bar / cage fitted cleared the error, although the error was repeatable during the first afternoon of use. I contacted K&F CONCEPT Customer Support to advise them of the issue, in case any other customers found the same. The error has not returned having left the cage & bar on for a couple of days, so I assume the button on the camera has 'relaxed' sufficiently.

The cage is, as expected, a very good, snug, fit on the Action 6, is very easy to put on & remove, with the wrist strap fitted, the kit adds another 192g to the weight of the camera, more than doubling its weight to around 345g. The cage does provide good protection for the Action 6 if dropped and the contoured handle should give some protection to the lens cover should the camera fall on its face from any height.

The release bar slides firmly into the cold shoe of the cage, and provides its own cold shoe for a video light or similar shoe mounted accessory.

The hand grip attaches firmly to the cage body, and is easily removed by squeezing the 2 orange clips on the integrated Quick Release mount. (Orange appears to be the corporate colour for K&F CONCEPT, it appears on every accessory of theirs I have!) In use the hand grip / release bar makes taking photographs with the Action 6 much easier - very little pressure is needed to operate the release and the grip is large enough (although a little deeper would be excellent) to provide good support and stability in use. I suggest using the provided wrist strap (with safety sliding loop) to provide added security to for the camera, as well as keeping it 'handy' for immediate use.

The Action 6 camera will automatically rotate its image to keep the horizon level and in the right place, so using it upside down doesn't need the video or photo to be flipped in Post Processing.

A small caveat... The Action 6 will 'wake up' immediately and take a photo / video if the shoot button is pressed... It is very easy to take a photo unintentially (photo 2) if the release bar is depressed when taking the camera from a bag or pocket...

In my opinion the K&F CONCEPT Metal Street Grip Kit for DJI Osmo Action 6 is a great idea and very practical in use, as well as providing an extra layer of security for the camera if dropped. At its current price of £60 there is an indication that this is a "Premium" product (which is pretty accurate) rather than of inferior construction. As far as photographic accessories go, it isn't expensive, although the value of the item would be entirely the decision of the individual.

The K&F CONCEPT Grip Kit with Cage is an absolutely high-quality accessory for the DJI Osmo Action 6 and is clearly aimed at users who want to seriously use their action cam for street photography or high-quality filming.

The workmanship is excellent. The CNC-machined aluminum cage fits perfectly, looks very robust and protects the camera reliably without restricting buttons, microphones or connections. The Osmo Action 6 is easy to plug in and use immediately.

The many mounting options are a big highlight: 1/4” thread, cold shoe mounts and the magnetic quick-release mount offer tremendous flexibility for accessories such as microphones, lights, stands or selfie sticks.

The magnetic camera grip is brilliantly solved. It magnetically clicks on the cage and also locks securely with two hooks. It's extremely fast, is bomb-proof and feels very good. The handle fits perfectly in the hand and makes it really comfortable to use the Action 6 even like a small photo camera. Excitingly enough, this is currently very popular on social media.

Particularly practical: The battery can be quickly changed even when the cage is mounted without having to disassemble anything. The operation of the camera remains completely unrestricted.

Overall, the set not only offers excellent protection, but also real added value in use and ergonomics and is simply fun.

Conclusion:
An extremely high-quality, well-designed cage and handle system with a perfect fit, great handling and maximum flexibility. Although the price is rather high, it absolutely does justice to the quality.

Overall, the grip kit with cage for the Osmo Action 6 makes a really good impression. The workmanship is really great. The metal cage is neatly milled, sturdy and keeps the camera securely in place. Nothing wobbles, all buttons and ports remain easily accessible and the quick release also works reliably.
What I also like is the overall high-quality look. The set doesn't feel like cheap accessories, but thoughtful and practical. The cage is permanent on my Action 6, regardless of whether the handle is on or not. The hot shoe at the top is practical if you want to mount a small light or microphone and significantly expands the range of uses. Especially because a hot shoe is also milled into the extended trigger, it is good to think about it.
However, the weight and ergonomics of the handle were not entirely convincing to me. The cage itself barely weighs anything, but the handle makes the action cam significantly heavier, which is particularly noticeable when taking longer shots. In addition, although the handle feels okay in the hand, it could be ergonomically shaped a bit better. It gets a bit uncomfortable, especially during longer sessions.
Despite the criticisms, it is still a really good and high-quality set of accessories that does its job and complements the camera in a useful way. That's why I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

I wanted this grip kit because trying to film the kids running about or the dog at the park with just the bare camera was a bit of a nightmare for my hands. For the price, it is excellent value when you consider you get both the cage and the handle in one go. The way it is well made from aluminium gives me a lot of confidence that it won't just snap if I accidentally knock it while we are out on a family walk.

The functionality is spot on because it makes the camera feel much more like a proper bit of kit in your hand. I really like the magnetic quick release system because it means I can swap from the handle to a tripod in seconds without faffing about with screws while the kids are waiting for me to keep up. Being able to get to the battery just by pressing a button is a massive win too as I can swap power out quickly without taking the whole rig apart.

It fits the camera perfectly and doesn't block any of the microphones or the charging port which is exactly what you want. The extra cold shoe mounts are handy for when I want to slide a small light on for filming indoors during birthdays or Christmas.

It feels like a premium product. It protects the camera while making it ten times easier to hold steady. If you do a lot of filming and want something that feels professional and remains practical, this is a great shout.

Just got a new Osmo Action so been trying out lots of the mounts and accessories for it. And this one looked interesting.

First of all, I've tried lots of K&F products for my camera gear over the years and they have always been good. This is no different. It's very high quality and feels a premium accessory. Being all metal it both looks and feels great.

Unfortunately the price reflects that though. It does feel quite expensive, even for such a high quality item. I feel it'd be more reasonable in the £35 range. So at £60 at time of review I'm not sure I'd say it's great value (considering it's a good chunk of the camera cost).

But it does work well. It's easy to assemble without instructions. The camera slots in easily, it seems well thought out, and all works well.

It just gives a little extra comfort in the hand, with the option for a hot shoe accessory, so turns it more into an everyday handheld camera too.

Overall - it's pricey to me, and I'm not sure I would necessarily use it a ton for daily shooting (but for certain scenarios it would definitely be handy). I use my camera more as an action cam, and have other cameras for other shooting. But as a product it's well made and works great, and if you only have this camera as your main camera it might be handy.

I wasn't too sure at first as this is quite a transformative device that turns a small camera into something far larger and heavier.

As always K&F equipment is well manufactured, the powder coating is flawless and everything clicks together exactly as you'd want it too. It takes about a minute to pop an OSMO 6, and only an Osmo 6, into the housing and start shooting.

The optional grip is big, heavy, and initially didn't feel natural in my hand, but after putting the camera down and picking it up again it soon became second nature. A very similar experience with the shutter release arm, odd at first, with next to no feedback when you've 'clicked', but it soon became intuitive.

My only gripe is with the metal screw heads that come into contact with the Shutter Release and the Mode Change buttons. Perhaps unwarranted but I would be worried about abrasion and wear on these components. I will be putting a blob of silicon or similar on these screw heads.

For me, this cage is ideal for underwater photography. A big button for the shutter plus an easy grip handle that you can use with gloves on. The same could be said for use in the snow, everything becomes a little bit bigger and easier to handle, so less of an action camera and more of a camera.
