Fantastic weather station!
The installation went smoothly, nice and clear instructions. I hesitated a lot between different brands, but this one stood out because of its accuracy and its robustness.
It is important that the station is placed high enough to avoid disruptions to the wind pattern and wind speed.
A disadvantage, albeit a small one, but the batteries of the outdoor station do have to be replaced almost annually. If the station is placed high on the roof, this may be a problem for some. But actually, if you buy something like this you are already a weather lover and it doesn't really matter. I am already very happy with it!

Yes, it does. Rain Rate is defined as the rainfall in the last 10 minutes, multiplied by 6 (10 minutes x 6 = 1 hour). This is also referred to as instantaneous rain per hour.

Just be sure that it can 'see' wind coming from all directions and that it doesn't read air temperatures from hot surfaces (concrete, roofs, etc.) If you can mount it to a free-standing mast that would be ideal.

It depends on the part but if the rain gauge fails, the entire sensor array needs replacing. The sensor array is relatively less expensive.

No, it doesn't require it. I would recommend though using lithion-ion batteries. They won't leak or burst like a NiMH or similar battery. And the lithiom ion batteries usually last quite a long time.
