K&F Concept are now my go to manufacturer when I need a filter, be it for camera, action camera or phone, I just know they will perform and be manufactured to exact tolerances, this being no exception.

As a photographer and videographer I spend a lot of time switching between equipment, if we exclude high end stuff like Arri and specialist stuff like Drones and Action cameras, I have settled on Fuji and Sony for my portable kit alongside the iPhone which is now good enough for a lot of my paid work.
The issue is that having this selection means different lenses and different filtersizes, so, to deal with this , I have settled on 67mm as that is native to all my phone cases and rigs and easily adapted to camera lenses by printing a step up.down ring as needed.

Hence ordering this as it will spend a lot of time on my phone - pictured - in fact probably 90% of its life will be my using it this way.

But surely it is expensive for a phone filter?
I would argue it isn't, as mentioned earlier, the iPhone is now a very capable imaging device and this definitely enhances the experience, a CPL is always a must have, but so is a Black Mist to take some of the harshness out of images/video and give it a softer more cinematic feel, having them combined in a single filter is perfect.

It is light, so no detriment to the handling of the phone and still gimbal friendly, even with a cage as opposed to the case picture.

Optical quality is excellent, in my usage so far I have had no need to correct for vignetting at the edges or other aberrations, something that I have had experience of with cheaper filters, and handling it is a delight, with a smooth action and no tendency to lock itself solid to the device it's attached to due to well honed threads.

Of course I recommend this!!
No surprises!

The filter impresses with its excellent workmanship and high-quality construction. It screws onto the lens easily and sits securely without any wobbling. In practice, the resulting photos produce a very pleasing overall image, with the black mist effect in particular creating a pleasant, cinematic look with soft highlights without overly distorting the image. A high-quality combination filter that reliably and easily enables creative image looks.

This is a 55mm K&F Concept True Color CPL & 1/4 Black Mist 2-in-1 lens filter.

[Good Points]
- No need to switch between two filters, so you can start shooting quickly.
- I've barely had to worry about vignetting so far.
- It also suppressed flare and ghosting.

[Concerns]
- Since the CPL and black mist functions cannot be adjusted separately, it's not ideal for shooting with just one filter.
- There's a slight reduction in light output, so you'll need to adjust the shutter speed and ISO in dark places.

[Effects of the CPL Function]
- It effectively removes reflections from water and glass, making colors more vibrant.
- There's no unnatural color cast, and it also reduces yellowing in video.
- The polarizing effect felt slightly softer than a standalone CPL, but the results were natural and easy to use.

[Impressions of the Black Mist Effect]
- It softens highlights in backlit situations, making the subject appear softer.
- It softens contrast in landscapes, creating a more cinematic tone.
- It creates an overall softer atmosphere in photos.

[Thoughts]
This is a multi-function filter that combines a CPL (circular polarizing filter) and a 1/4 black mist filter. I've used CPL/black mist filters in studio and location shoots, but this was my first time using a 2-in-1 type.

When I actually attached it and shot, the reflection-suppressing CPL and the soft light blurring of the black mist combined to recreate the colors and textures I had in mind.

The polarization effect felt a little softer than a standalone CPL filter, but the colors were still natural and vivid, and it also reduced the yellow cast in video.

The black mist effect also softens highlights in backlit situations, creating a soft atmosphere like a scene from a movie. It's perfect for shots where you want to soften the subject, and the CPL effect tightens the overall look, adding depth to the landscape.

The convenience of not having to change filters, natural rendering, and the expressive power of the combination of CPL and black mist make this a great choice for anyone who frequently shoots outdoor or backlit portraits.

As you'd expect from K&F CONCEPT, it's also excellent value for money, and it can be used for a wide range of purposes, from landscapes to portraits. I think it's a useful filter to have on hand.

This highly versatile and streamlined filter combines a PL filter, perfect for landscape photography, with a Black Mist filter for a cinematic texture.

In particular, the latest generation (such as the Nano-Xcel series), boasting "ultra-low 0.1% reflectivity," significantly overcomes the weaknesses of traditional budget filters.

[Eliminating Yellow Cast]

Traditional PL filters, especially older K&F models, tended to produce a slightly yellowish (amber-ish) cast overall. This "True Color" model significantly reduces this color cast, achieving a polarized effect (removing reflections and enhancing blue skies) while maintaining clear, natural color reproduction.

[The Exquisite Emotion of Black Mist 1/4]

1/4 is the concentration where you can truly feel the effect.

Light Diffusion: Strong light sources like street lamps and the sun are softly blurred, creating a cinematic atmosphere.

Contrast Reduction: Shadows are slightly lifted, reducing the sharpness typical of digital filters and resulting in a softer, more realistic image.
Skin Texture: In portraits, it gently corrects skin details, reducing the effort required for retouching.

[Benefits of 0.1% Reflectivity]

The "0.1% ultra-low reflectivity" effectively suppresses ghosting and flare in backlit situations. Black Mist itself diffuses light, making it prone to reflections inside the lens. However, this coating reduces unnatural balls of light (ghosting), maintaining clear image quality.

Snapshots and Vlogging: For those who want to consistently capture atmospheric images without the hassle of changing filters.

Portrait Photography: For those who want to make skin look beautiful while controlling shine on clothing and background reflections with PL.

For those looking to reduce their equipment: If you own multiple 72mm lenses, this one lens will dramatically expand the scope of your expression.

I feel this lens will satisfy people like this.
Cost and performance are not balanced in a good way!

I use a CPL filter when shooting landscapes, but I also wanted to add a black mist filter for videos. I was worried about vignetting at the wide-angle end when using two filters stacked on top of each other. Since I started using this filter, that problem has disappeared, and I've found myself worrying about the filter less while shooting.
The CPL filter works naturally, with almost no yellow cast, which is common with cheaper filters. I could definitely feel it reducing reflections on the water surface and bringing out the blue of the sky. The black mist filter's effect is subtle, only softening highlights. Since it doesn't create an overly soft effect, it's perfect for any situation.
However, since it's a 2-in-1 filter, you can't turn off the CPL and mist effects separately. At night, when I want to use only the mist filter, the light level drops, which can be a bit of a problem. I have no complaints about using it specifically for daytime outdoor photography, but I feel like it would be difficult to use the same filter for night scenes as well. It might be more practical to use it in conjunction with a standalone mist filter. The coating feels firm to the touch and is easy to wipe off dirt.
The softness is just right, not too thick.

I often shoot indoors on antique-style sets,
and I purchased this filter because I wanted to test out how Black Mist would work in an environment with many point light sources (lamps and chandeliers).
The photos here are a comparison of photos taken with and without the 1/4 filter attached, under the same conditions.
I adjusted the brightness without the filter and left the settings the same with the filter attached.

First of all, I think the way the light source blurs is very natural.
The 1/4 filter has a stronger effect, but the K&F mist doesn't "make the light expand into a round shape," but rather softens the edges while leaving a core of light, which makes it easier to create atmosphere.

Another strength of this filter is that it has an integrated True Color CPL.
Since there is no need to add a separate CPL, there is no increase in flare,
and it was convenient to be able to add just the mist effect while minimizing color breakdown and glare.

Especially in conditions like this one,

• Dark background
• Indoors with many point light sources
• Costumes made of glossy material

Normal mists tend to overexpose highlights, but the Black Box is easy to use because it adds softness while controlling reflections.

As you can see in the photos,

• Without it → Hard light, sharp shadows
• With it → Light spreads softly, creating an airy feel

The difference is clear.

I think this is perfect for people who want to create an atmosphere without distorting the colors.

If you want a less pronounced effect, choosing 1/8 would be a good choice.

On the other hand, if your subject is more like a gravure model, this filter's low contrast makes it unsuitable.
The light bleeding is just right. Thanks to the True Color CPL, it doesn't break down. The light bleeding is just right. Thanks to the True Color CPL, it doesn't break down.

I’ve been a professional videographer for over ten years and a professional photographer for longer than that. I have dozens of filters from lesser known brands to filters from companies serving professional productions.

Recently, I’ve been doing a lot of agile, small footprint shooting and I want a minimal setup. This means no matte box and a selection of circular filters. I use diffusion on almost every shoot, and when I’m outdoors I almost always have a CPL filter attached to cut glare and tame unwanted reflections.

This K&F Concept filter is far from the most expensive circular filter in my kit, but it punches well above its price point.

Combining diffusion with a polarizer is not a new concept, but it is an undeniably practical and convenient one for a multitude of use cases.

This filter is aluminum in build, it’s light weight and knurled to give you grip. The build quality is excellent with not perceptible flaws. The CPL sits on top of the screw on ring and spins independently. The movement is smooth enough if just a little stiff. Well, better than slipping loose but you may need to make sure you have a firm grip to turn it.

Performance wise the amount of glare cut is fantastic. I’d say in the 90%+ region. The filter itself only subtracts around a half to full stop of light which is standard for a CPL.

It’s not entirely color neutral. Using my camera’s auto white balance I can measure that the filter adds up to 200 Kelvin (warmer) and skewers 1.5-2 green. Not bad considering it’s essentially a 1/4 black pro mist. The bloom on the highlights is close to white. There is only a slight lift in the shadows which is expected with a BLACK pro mist.

The diffusion itself sits somewhere between 1/8 and 1/4 of other Black Pro Mist filters from a certain well known brand. This is actually a sweet spot for me as a classic 1/4 is too strong for outdoor and brightly lit studio work.

The case is a novel design, but difficult to stack with my other filter cases. I do love that you get a micro fiber cloth with it. It’s a nice touch.

I often shoot landscapes and portraits with the same lens, and switching between CPL and black mist was a hassle, so I decided to install this filter. As a result, I feel that this is a practical filter that has improved the tempo of my shooting style and broadened the scope of my expression.

First, about the CPL performance.
As advertised as True Color, there is very little color shift. While cheaper CPLs can lean towards yellow or green, this filter is relatively neutral. It naturally brings out the blue of the sky and the green of the leaves, and effectively suppresses reflections on the water surface and glass. The polarization effect is sufficient, and the angle adjustment torque is smooth. It is neither too light nor too heavy, making it easy to handle.

The black mist effect is a "subtle" type.
It softens highlights and slightly mildens contrast, but without creating an overly fluffy effect. It just softens the impact on skin and light sources in portraits and backlit scenes. It's particularly easy to use for video, and I was impressed by how well it doesn't look "overdone."

The advantage of the 2-in-1 design is its ease of use.
It eliminates the hassle of changing filters while on location, keeping your bag neat and tidy. This is especially helpful when you want to keep your gear lightweight or when you're constantly on the move.

The optics are also excellent, with minimal flare and ghosting thanks to the 0.1% ultra-low reflectivity and 28-layer nano-coating. I hardly noticed any loss in resolution. The water- and oil-repellent coating is also practical, making maintenance easy when shooting outdoors.

One concern is that the CPL and mist are integrated, so those looking for the maximum effect from each component alone may find it a little disappointing. Also, if you're looking for a rich black mist effect, a separate dedicated filter is more suitable.

Overall, this is a practical filter that's perfect for those who want both natural polarization and a subtle softening effect. It offers a good balance of mobility and image quality, especially for travel, snapshots, and vlogging, making it a lens worth owning.

This filter combines a CPL and black mist.
I think it adjusts contrast with the CPL filter and then creates a soft, cinematic atmosphere with the black mist.

If you attach the CPL and black mist separately, the lens will become thicker and may cause vignetting, so this filter is effective for those who want a single filter.

It has the effect of two filters, but I think it has a very thin frame.

I'm honestly amazed at the recent improvement in the quality of K&F CONCEPT filters.
In the past, the coatings were poor, but the newer ones feel to be of a quality that is comparable to high-end Japanese filters.
Lately, I've been using only K&F CONCEPT filters.
If you're only familiar with the old ones, I highly recommend giving them a try!

This company makes some very high-quality optical products. The packaging immediately screams high-quality. The filter itself comes packaged inside a protective case. Rotating the device is very smooth and effortless. There’s no feeling of gritty or sticky rotation. Optically it looks pretty impressive and should provide good quality optics for amateur photographers.
