Awesome cage for the insta360 X5!Super solid build quality, that feels precise, with great fit and finish.Easy to install, and the added pieces are a nice bonus.Cage adds nice versatility/functionality and allows for more mounting options with the coldshoe mount and 14" mounts.Doesn't add much weight and I feel like it would protect it if I ever lose the camera off of a car mount (minus the lenses).

K&F Concept always makes solid gear. I’ve been testing 4–5 different cages for the X5 while searching for the “perfect” one—something lightweight, with quick-release features, GoPro compatibility, at least 2 cold shoes, and solid protection—and this one checks all the boxes.The cage is made from lightweight aluminum but still feels durable. There’s a quick-release latch on top so you can slide the X5 in easily, and if you want extra security, it includes a screw—but you don’t have to use it (which I originally thought based on the stock photos). There are cold shoes on the top and right side, while the left side has a female 1/4" thread so you can mount it sideways on a selfie stick or other rig.It also comes with extra wind foams for cleaner audio and an L-wrench for attaching the included Arca-Swiss plate to the bottom. Once mounted, the cage becomes quick-release compatible—just like the original X5 base (though you may need to supply your own QR plate). Between the built-in mounting options, the flip-out GoPro ears that work without the plate, and the thoughtful design, this cage is ready for almost any setup.Best part? It’s under $40 and often goes on sale—nearly half the price of most other X5 cages out there. With all its features and smart design, this is now my go-to X5 cage. K&F nailed it!

It’s perfect and lightweight. I seen reviews that made me second guess but I’m glad I got it. The bottom quick release attachment was great. Great buy!

I wanted a cage that was solid (audible solid click knowing cage is closed), that had a lanyard hole (in the even it detached from my board though don't expect it to) and that had the direct attachment I needed. This way I am not utilizing a ton of attachments and keeps it minimal. And priced well at the time of this review at approx $38 with an additional 15% off.

Just taken this on holiday and it’s kept the camera safe throughout our trip.I got this to protect the bottom camera bracket from damage from extreme sport / movement damage/breakage as we went on a very adventurous Jeep safari and the cage is built like a tank.Can highly recommend it to anyone who needs to add attachments and wants a protective cage.

IN SHORT: The product seems valid, at the level of other more expensive ones, but it has some design choices (most likely, related to costs) that are important to know to avoid unpleasant surprises; in my case, I returned the product for the problem shown in the photo (details later), but I bought another copy because the quality/price ratio was still better than others. The protection is solid, like more expensive products, and has a design that, at least for some details, may be preferable to others: it offers 3 standard attacks with 1/4 screw (easels, selfie sticks, etc.) and 2 cold-shoes, useful for accessories such as any microphones or lights, unlike most competitive products that offer only 1 or 2 1/4 attacks, and usually 1 or 2 cold-shoe; in addition, it includes a magnetic base (not very powerful) compatible with Insta360's ARCA quick-release attacks, and with the standard (convenient for selfie-sticks and easels, only in “static”, not action); these are the main reasons why, despite the problem shown in the photo, I decided to re-buy this product instead of passing on the competition: 1/4 attacks offer greater solidity than cold shoes in action settings, having 3 in different positions gives more versatility than competing products that cost a few euros less, and also of competing products that cost significantly more. Negative notes (important): - as clearly shown in the photo, THE GOPRO/ACTION CAMERA MOUNT IS COMPLETELY UNRELIABLE: used with a bike on a paved road it lasted less than 25 minutes, then one of the flaps came off, fortunately I noticed the problem and immediately disassembled the camera before it came off completely; in practice, the GoPro attack is absolutely to be avoided in typical action camera contexts, with vibrations, fast movements, etc. (that is, it is essentially unusable for its function main, therefore.. useless) mainly due to the lack of solidity of the rods that keep the fins mounted. - 1/4 attachments have no “bottom”, and this means that, in some cases, screwing too much can actually damage the rubberized camera body; the problem is marginal, many accessories have screws of adequate length, which do not exceed the length of the hole.. but it is a good idea to be careful when assembling to avoid unpleasant surprises.

This K&F Concept hard case is perfect for my Insta360 X5. It is made of aluminum, which, apart from protecting the camera, gives it a spectacular premium touch. The cage is opened from above, the camera is inserted, closed and that's it. It has openings on its sides that allow direct use of its buttons, removing the battery, as well as pads that protect the microphone area. As I said, in addition to protecting the camera, it gives a more robust and premium touch to the camera, an extra grip and the comfort of knowing that in the face of shocks or rubbing it will be more covered. It also has several attachments for external microphones, LED bulbs, etc... that have a hot shoe frame. Without a doubt, a quality product from a top brand in the photography and video sector. ✅ POSITIVE POINTS ✅

This cage could also have been built by Rheinmetall. It offers various options for a quarter inch thread. Fits very well what I don't like so much is the protection of the lenses which is very wobbly. Otherwise, everything is very tight with a lock screw for the opening mechanism so that nothing is accidentally opened. I find the option of simply opening a GoPro mount particularly intelligent, which is also made of metal and should take some effort. Perfectly equipped for mountain biking and motorcycling.

I am very satisfied with the K&F Concept camera cage for the Insta360 X5. The housing is made of high-quality aluminum alloy, looks very sturdy and reliably protects the camera from bumps and scratches. The silicone lens cover can be quickly put on when the camera is not in use. The two cold shoe holders make it easy to attach accessories such as a microphone or light, which significantly expands the range of applications. The integrated 1/4" screw holes are also well thought-out and offer flexibility during assembly. The workmanship is clean, nothing wobbles or rattles. Overall, a durable accessory that not only provides protection but also significantly improves the functionality of my camera.
