My X5 fell off my motorcycle due to a mounting failure, and this camera cage saved it from having more severe damage to the body. Obviously it couldn’t protect the lenses, but it prevented so much more damage to the rest of the camera, allowing me to at least recover the footage. $33 saved me from hundreds more in repair costs, and that itself is worth its weight in gold. Watch the video and you’ll see what I mean. If the camera has landed where it did without the cage attached going 50mph, it may very well have caused the whole thing to come apart.The mount that caused the fall is a non-locking (stupid, I know) quick release mount made by VRIG- avoid that at all costs. Just use the screw mechanism like a normal person or get the official Insta360 locking mount and you’ll never have to test this camera cage with a preventable incident. K&F, you have a customer to back your product and I will be making the camera cage a permanent fixture on my X5 now.

I had this cage for only 1 ride before my x5 camera fell off my bike (due to other equipment failure, NOT this cage). I circled back and got the camera and accessories on a busy street. The camera was toast but still in one piece, with the cage still on it. Upon review of the footage, it was run over by THREE vehicles before the camera died. I have no doubt that without this it would have been severely damaged if not broken completely by the initial fall to pavement.The microphone wind muffs are a nice touch as well. This frame is heavy, with smooth contours and just feels like quality in your hands. Luckily Insta360 has a great replacement program, so I’ll have another camera soon and will absolutely be putting another one of these on.It’s easy to get on and off the camera, all ports are accessible with it on, and the latch has an audible snap and a thumb screw to keep it closed. It’s functional and beautiful. A little expensive on the front end but well worth the money spent.

Easy to install, nice and solid! You can use it with or without the quick release adapter. Does put a little weight on the camera but not bad at all. You can add an external mic and light and that’s a plus.

I got this K&F Concept cage for my Insta360 X5, and I'm giving it a full five stars. I bought the little 360 camera to film stuff with my two daughters, who are 11 and 13, and while the camera itself is great, its built-in audio is just okay. This cage fixes that and adds some much-needed protection.What I like is the solid, all-metal construction. It feels like it could take a knock without the camera getting damaged, which is good peace of mind when the kids are around. The fit is perfect; the camera slides in snugly and all the buttons, screens, and doors are completely accessible. The real reason I bought it, though, was for the two cold shoe mounts. I can now attach a small shotgun microphone, which makes a world of difference in the audio quality of our family videos. It turns a simple camera into a more capable little rig.As for dislikes, there aren't any real ones. It adds a little bit of weight and bulk, but that's expected from a metal cage and actually makes the camera easier to hold steady. The included silicone lens cover is a nice bonus for when I toss it in a bag. For the price, this thing is an excellent value. It adds protection and expands the camera's capabilities significantly. It’s a well-made piece of gear that does exactly what it's supposed to do, and it does it well.

This is a wonderful aluminum frame for the x5 camera! I love the fact that it has a quick release option that can be used when you're more casually handling the camera, as well as a thumb screw you can secure to disable the quick release when doing more active tasks. We've used this on our motorcycle attached to a selfie stick using the 1/4 screw attachment base, but it also comes with fold out connectors for different mounting options. In addition to mounting vertically, this frame also gives you the option to mount sideways with the 1/4 inch mounting points which is super unique when riding with a motorcycle helmet type of mount. Cost is super fair for the quality you're getting with this product. I have a lot of confidence riding our motorcycle using this frame. The materials it's made out of feel solid, and it also comes with a silicone protective lens cover that fits with the camera and the frame when not in use.

Nice accessory kit overall with the key feature being the cage for the Insta360. It's pretty easy to install and release using the orange latch. There's a thumb screw included to lock the orange latch. Several mounting points to add lights and a microphone. The cage doesn't obstruct the battery and doesn't need to be removed in order to change the battery. Pretty lightweight and protects the edges of the sides, top and bottom. There's a 1/4" tripod mount on the bottom in addition to the Go Pro style mount. When not in use, the Go Pro mounting flaps are normally held against the frame with magnets.

The K&F Concept aluminum frame fits perfectly on the Insta360 X5 camera and provides nice protection without being in the way. The frame provides an overall good look to the camera and provides mounting options to the camera. Use of the camera is not impeded in any way with the frame installed.

I really liked it, it fits perfectly and you can tell it's of good quality. If you have the original rubber lens protectors they are not going to work for you when using this case, you should use the ones that come with the case.

This case is just what I was looking for. I love that K&F Concept made one of these. I have several filters and a bunch of other accessories from them. Whether it's a bag or a mount, they always make camera stuff that is nicer than you would expect for the price point. This cage seems really nice quality and it fits on my X5 nice and snug. There is a rubber pad inside that keeps the metal of the cage from making direct contact with the camera body. There is a securing thumbscrew for the clasp but it is optional. I used it without the pin and liked that better because it slipped in and out of my bag easier. I never had an issue with the case opening up. In a more dynamic situation, I would probably keep the screw in.The quick-connect plate that was included worked great with the magnetic mount that I already had. I like this design because without this plate you can still have the option of flipping down the GoPro style wings to use that type of mount. I also like the foam guards for the mics. And that they included spares of these. The silicone lens guard fits nicely and does not require me to to force or stretch it on.It has a lot of options for mounting it to something or mounting something to it. I even tried mounting it to the top of my Lumix S5IIX on its side. This worked great and would be a great low-profile solution for street photography while vlogging. The black of the cage is darker than the black of the camera, but I think it blends well and I like the black and orange combination.

Generally I prefer smallrig or tilta cages. But this entry by K&F might be my favorite option (at the moment). It's lightweight, you can access everything you need to access on the X5 with the cage on, and comes with wind reduction foam for the mics, which is all fairly common. It uses a latch to keep the cage closed, and you can further secure it with a thumbscrew should you wish, a nice touch. It has two cold shoes, one on top one on the side, and THREE anti twist 1/4-20 mounts two on one side, one on the bottom with the bottom one also doubling as fold down action cam fingers if you still use those style of mounts. Good thinking on their part.Here's what I think they were incredibly smart in doing, it comes with a 1/4-20 quick release plate that works with both the Insta360 magnetic system AND the DJI magnetic system. Whichever system you use, this will work with out of the box. Yes you can buy plates like that from other sources and use them with other cages, but this cage comes with one. Saves you a step, saves you money, saves you time. That alone is huge for me. That makes this set up so much more functional across the board. No more choosing which mount to use with what, the only choice you have to make is do you want it on the bottom or the side of the cage.
