Lighting is the most critical aspect of film making. Without it, images and video look grainy and unprofessional. At the same time, proper lighting and use of color filters can vastly change the mood or vibe of a scene or image. The title of this review says it all, but let me dig into why this is the perfect setup for someone that can only pick one.Variety for every need:This package has TONS of attachments/accessories included. It includes a basic bowl attachment to direct light, but there are also little mitten/socks like filters that can be wrapped on top of them to change the color. There is another honeycombed barn door attachment to help further refine lighting and direction to a specific target. This attachment also allows for you to attach the metal filters with various colors...it uses magnets for quick on/off attachments. There is also a super diffused soft box attachment.Technology and use:The light itself is high quality and uses the new COB lighting technology, so there is no physical bulky bulb, but rather, light emits from little beads on a circuit board. This light operates a lot more efficiently than traditional bulb setups. There is proper ventilation and a huge easy to read display. There is also a simplistic single rotary button/knob for controls...as well as a wireless remote!Functionality:I've tried the light in different filming settings for several days now and I'm impressed with the 60w output. The stepless controls for brightness and temperature really comes in handy and can change the look of any scene pretty easily. I've used the barndoor to direct light to specific items I'm feature, and at an angle to give it a nice shadow effect. The soft box is just great in general and I've used it on myself during live meetings/streams to give myself light, without the glare (especially helpful as I wear glasses). Once I've setup the light, I extensively use the remote control so I don't have to go back and forth to make changes. I like the remote over the use of an app, as its much quicker and easier to "feel" my way around the buttons without having to draw my eyes away from the action.Other considerations:This light comes with a lot of accessories, but a stand is not one of them. If you don't have existing tripod stands, you'll have to buy one to really be able to use this. I think given the price of what you get, budgeting in a light stand is not bad. Another reason why I love this light is that it uses the bowens mount standard. There are literally tons of other attachments that you can buy from Amazon as your film making grows. For budget conscious film makers, this is a huge plus.For the reasons listed above, I firmly believe this is a great lighting package that both novice and pro film makers could really use on a regular basis - and grow with. Needless to say, I am really happy with this purchase and would recommend it to others without hesitation.
