The operation of the unit, both as a camera, Arca Swiss compatible release plate, OR as a phone grip and mount has been incredibly well-thought-out and constructed.* The unit is made of an excellent, hard aluminum alloy that appears to equal to that required by the most stringent manufacturing.* Every detail has been carefully considered and incorporated into the unit.* The ARCA SWISS compatibility is exact and works perfectly with all six of my Arca Swiss ballheads without issue.* The spring mechanism for phone use is smooth and strong.* The surface for use with camera has excellent non-slip rubber inserts for security and stability* The unit has multiple attachment locations for use with tripods, stands, gimbals and more.All in all, this is the best-engineered and contructed base plate and phone holder I have ever seen or used. It clearly rates a very high FIVE STARS and my honest and VERY hearty recommendation! It's worth at least five times the price Amazon lists it for, and it comes it a storage case that is just another bonus.
