Amazing.

great for travel
If I were to choose one lens for my Canon M series this would be it. Fast and with a very versatile focal length for walk around photography. Excellent for travel photography, very small compact and lightweight.

Good general purpose lens
Very useful lens for my high school journalism class. It fills a gap that the standard lens that comes with the Canon Rebel series doesn't meet. Obviously not intended for sports/action photography, it does a great job with portrait or candid type pictures.

Great lens! Canon put great effort into the EOS M and the lenses - the same quality I have found in the L series. Great vendor as well - very responsive to questions and offered great customer experience!

My GO-TO Lens!
Love this lens. Set it at AE F1.8 and it takes the most wonderful blurred background shots with your subject in perfect focus. Used it on my Rebel series now m M50 LOVE!

Not the sharpest glass in the L range, but a decen
For an L-series lens, I'm surprised that this lens isn't sharper, but it's also one of the least expensive L-series lenses. Construction quality is on a par with other L lenses I've owned/used. It's a very capable landscape lens on my 6D, but it isn't quite as crisp as a 24-105mm L that I used to have, even in the F/7.1 - f/9 "sweet spot." If you're not pixel-peeping on-screen at the computer, you may or may not notice it, and a little sharpening before printing yields very good prints.At this price, this lens is worth having if you need this range, but don't be afraid to consider other options if the image quality is the same at a lower price. And if you have money to burn, definitely look at the more expensive L lenses.

one of the best lenses on the market I think
This is an absolutely stellar lens; one of the best lenses on the market I think. It cannot be beaten for the price.As a very fast lens, even an amateur with a relatively inexpensive M-series Canon can take pictures with intense bokeh. Tiny, and it fits well in your pocket.There are quite a few reviews out there extolling this benefits of this lens; believe everything you read, it is truly excellent.
