Soft look straight out of the camera
I've been using various K&F Concept filters for years, so I was particularly curious about this combination filter with soft and mist effects – especially for portraits and night photography. The filter does exactly what it promises: It creates a softer, more dreamy image with a subtle glow around light sources, without sacrificing overall sharpness. This is especially appealing with backlighting and point light sources – faces appear softer, and lights shimmer with a pleasing cinematic quality.
What I like: The filter is well-made, easy to screw onto the lens, and feels sturdy. The effect is noticeable but not overdone – it really comes into its own in low light. In daylight, the difference is more subtle, but still perceptible if you look closely. For me, it's a good balance – not too much, but enough to achieve a specific look directly while shooting photos or videos, without having to spend a lot of time creating effects in post-processing.
What I like: The filter is well-made, easy to screw onto the lens, and feels sturdy. Sure, many of these effects can also be achieved with Lightroom or Photoshop – but anyone who enjoys working creatively "in-camera" or appreciates the analog look will certainly value this filter. I now use it regularly for portraits and twilight shots – especially when I want to achieve that soft vintage look without the image appearing artificial.
For the price, it's a very successful tool for anyone who wants to add more atmosphere and character to their images – with minimal effort but a noticeable effect.
