I recently tried out the K&F Concept Premium Lens Guards for the Insta360 X5, and overall I’m impressed. These protectors are made from 9H tempered optical glass, which gives them excellent scratch resistance while preserving image quality - my 360° footage stayed sharp and clear, with over 99% light transmittance.Installing them is pretty straightforward thanks to the twist-lock mechanism, which securely snaps in without feeling loose, even during fast-paced movements. There’s also a notch for the mic, so you don’t interfere with sound recording when the guard is in place.One very clever feature is that the X5 detects these guards and switches to a “Lens Guard Mode,” adjusting how it stitches the 360° video so there’s no distortion.The glass also has a multi-layer oleophobic + hydrophobic coating, so fingerprints and smudges are easier to wipe clean.On the downside: the fit on the rear lens (near the screen) can be a little tight, and I had to apply more pressure than I expected to lock it in. Some users also mention a slight reflection under certain artificial lighting, although in natural light it wasn’t noticeable.Overall, these lens guards offer very strong protection without compromising video quality. For Insta360 X5 owners who want to safeguard their expensive lenses, these are a very good value, especially given their durability and optical clarity. The few minor trade-offs are well worth the peace of mind.
