Compact, bright and versatile: the light that enhances selfies, makeup and photo shots
I have been following the K&F CONCEPT brand for some time and I appreciate its approach: well-built, functional and affordable accessories. Although placed in a more amateur range, this magnetic selfie light with mirror also confirms the brand's philosophy, offering a successful mix of practicality, light quality and versatility of use. Designed for those who love to take care of their appearance before a video call or a shot, it is also perfect for those looking for a reliable filling light in the photographic field. Versatile, light and powerful, it proved to be a useful accessory in more situations than I expected. The first thing that is striking is its portability: it weighs just 98 grams and is so compact that it fits comfortably in a clutch or photo backpack. It's one of those accessories you forget to have with you... until you need it. Technically speaking, it's surprisingly well done. The light emitted is of excellent quality, with 72 LEDs and a high color rendering index (CRI 95+), which returns natural and pleasant tones, perfect for portraits or for attenuating shadows in small photo sets. The continuous adjustment with scroll wheels for color temperature (3000K—6500K) and brightness is a gem: precise, silent and intuitive. Personally, I prefer this type of analog control over the usual touch or mechanical buttons, even if the latter often offer recallable presets. Here you work fluidly, without interruption, and you get exactly the desired result. The built-in mirror is another smart detail. It is designed not only for small aesthetic adjustments before a video call or a shot, such as fixing the makeup or checking the appearance, but it is also useful for improving selfies using the smartphone's rear cameras: although it does not reflect the entire frame and is not aligned with the lenses, it offers a visual reference that helps to avoid blind shots. The built-in 900 mAh battery turned out to be more performing than expected. Here are the results of my tests: Maximum battery life with all LEDs turned on at maximum intensity: 1 hour and 46 minutes. • The indicator LED changed from green to red after 1h 26m, and continued to work for another 19 minutes without a drop in brightness. • The light remained constant until turned off, without any attenuation. Full charge test from scratch: • Duration: 2 hours and 28 minutes. • Real measured capacity: about 1,225 mAh, higher than the nominal, an indication of excellent energy efficiency. Operation while charging: contrary to what is stated in the specifications, the light works perfectly even while charging. The USB meter detected an increase in current proportional to the set light intensity, a sign that the external power supply contributes directly to supporting the LEDs. A significant detail, which makes the device even more versatile. Another plus point is the powerful and stable N52 magnet. On my iPhone 16 Pro with MagSafe cover it stays securely attached. For those who have non-compatible models, an adhesive metal ring is included in the package, which extends compatibility to practically any smartphone. Limitations found: • The extendable support presents a bit of play in the joints, which do not convey a feeling of extreme solidity. • On very large smartphones (such as the iPhone Pro Max), the light cannot project completely vertically, even with the arm extended. • Maximum power of 2W: sufficient for selfies and small objects, but not suitable for illuminating larger rooms or complex scenes.
