Sure they advertise the face tracking doesn't rely on any app and you're free to use anything, but I think it's terrible that they force you to download their app and registration is mandatory to even first be able to use the gimbal. That's a big negative.I've used Hohem gimbals before and I think they're decent when it comes to using it with smartphones; this new version with the face tracking really intrigued me, so I decided to give it a try.You need to be in a well lit area for it to keep tracking. You need to make an OK sign with your hand to enable it. If you do the thumbs up gesture to the right then the camera will mechanically go into portrait mode. It's pretty cool, but it's annoying when you switch between portrait/landscape, it loses tracking and you have to do the OK symbol again. I would have preferred if they made the gesture one hand instead of two.All these Ai tracking products seem to be flooding the market now. If you don't really care about the gimbal, and more interested in the tracking part, the "OBSBOT Me" is a way superior product (if you also don't need portrait/landscape orientation switching).Initially I was wowed by this technology (and I'm a huge gadget geek), it's really not a gimmick at all, but after trying out the OBSBot Me, that product's Ai tracking is so much better and they don't require ridiculous app/registration to use it right away.
